Procurement Excellence Manager & Global Fleet Manager at Malvern Panalytical

1st of September: Ironman 70.3 Duisburg. Not the race that I was hoping for, but that is also part of Ironman racing. Adapt to the circumstances, manage expectations and bring that baby to the finish line. The metaphor with business management is so obvious :-) Eventually it is all about getting the job done. #prolabsystems #determination #ironman #ironmanracing #triathlon #businessmanagement #IM703Duisburg

The Duisburg Duel - Erik Lentfert The water was a frigid, unforgiving embrace as I dove into the Rhine River for the start of the Ironman Duisburg. My heart pounded in my chest, a mix of excitement and dread. The other athletes around me were a blur of neon colors, their strokes powerful and determined. The swim was a battle against the current and the cold. My muscles ached, my lungs burned, but I pushed on, focusing on my breathing and conserving energy. After what felt like an eternity, I emerged from the water, shivering and exhausted. The bike course was a grueling test of endurance. But I was eager to take it on! The hills were steep, the wind was relentless, and my legs screamed for mercy. But I pushed through, fueled by the cheers of the crowd and the determination to finish. The marathon was a blur. My legs felt like lead, and every step was a struggle. But I refused to give up. Heroes are forged from trials and testing. I imagined the finish line, the cheers of the crowd, the sense of accomplishment that would wash over me. With each step, I got closer to my goal. Finally, I saw it. The finish line, an arch of triumph. I surged forward, legs burning, lungs screaming. I crossed the line, staggering in breath in a mixture of relief and exhaustion. The clock read 5 hours, 6 minutes, and 39 seconds. I had done it. I had conquered the Ironman Duisburg. The pain, the suffering, the doubt – it was all worth it in that moment. Heroes are forged by fire, and this is just the beginning of an era of conquest and victory Challenge Almere here I come! #ProLabSystems #ErikLentfert #Ironman #IronmanDuisburg #Athlete #Conqueror
