If you want to hear more about our scientific collaboration with Namrata Gundiah and Aritra Chatterjee, as well as the genesis of our recent work published in Development, here is the link to our interview for the "People behind the papers" section of the issue. For me, this was a nice way to talk about our research, the ups and downs that we had to deal with, and the long journey that was undertaken to publish this work. https://lnkd.in/dMw_PsNQ

Looking forward to co-hosting this inaugural webinar and kicking off the new Frontiers in Systems Biology section, Systems Concepts, Theory and Policy in Biology and Medicine. Thank you Yoram Vodovotz Jennifer Lovejoy, PhD Thomas C. Collin, PhD Desirè Arancio! More on the new section: Biology and medicine have become exceedingly complex. Systems approaches to biology and medicine have delivered integrated and interdisciplinary approaches to address this complexity to solve the problems that face the global population today. Yet even systems biology and systems medicine often remain fragmented, with researchers working in siloes of discipline or therapeutic area without considering the holistic nature of the problems we address, which may include physiological, behavioral, environmental, technological, sociocultural or policy/regulatory components. The Systems Concepts, Theory and Policy in Biology and Medicine section of Frontiers in Systems Biology focuses on integrative concepts, underlying theory of the systems approach, and policy implications and recommendations relevant to biology and medicine to overcome these barriers and provide more broadly holistic solutions. Elliott, Ph.D. Atif J Khan Verena Kallhoff, Ph.D., MBA #systemsbiology #systemsthinking #precisionmedicine
Save the date! I am delighted and honored to announce that Frontiers in Systems Biology will be hosting our inaugural webinar with Systems Biology pioneer Leroy Hood on October 5, co-hosted by Jennifer Lovejoy, PhD and Sean Manion PhD, Section Chief Editors of our section on Systems Concepts, Theory and Policy in Biology and Medicine. Stay tuned for registration information.
