EECA's Insights team has done the math – for many households, hot water heat pumps are a good way to go. With water heating responsible for about 30% of the average Kiwi household’s energy use, the technology used to heat water is a significant decision. Efficient hot water heat pump systems use around 60-70% less electricity than conventional electric systems. While the upfront costs are higher, the savings on energy costs can make hot water heat pumps the more economical option in the longer term – especially for households with higher hot water usage. This may include households installing a water heating system in a new build, or those with an existing system nearing the end of its life span (typically 8-15 years). WE NOW OFFER OPTIMISATION IN THE DANISH AFRR MARKET After months of dedicated teamwork, we successfully launched our aFRR service this past Wednesday at 10:00 AM, when Danish TSO Energinet activated the PICASSO algorithm 🎉 With the introduction of aFRR, we now offer optimisation services across all ancillary service markets. The new design means a shift from a weekly capacity reservation to hourly capacity markets and the energy delivery should now be in five minutes instead of 15. The new market design makes it more attractive for smaller flexible units to participate. The change will benefit our customers’ portfolio of flexible assets such as combined heat and power plants, batteries and PtX. Preparing our systems has by no means been a small feat, and we’d like to give a shout-out to everyone involved in getting things ready for go-live⏱️ 📸 It was a busy but incredibly rewarding day in the control room! 🔗 Are you a Danish CHP interested in learning what we can do for you? If you’re attending next week’s Texas Water, we’d love for you to meet SENTRY’s Jonathan, to learn how our low-maintenance, bio-electrode sensors go where no sensor has gone before. They enable minute-by-minute snapshots of the treatability of your wastewater. Jon will be showcasing in the exhibit hall with Newman Regency Group at booth 1443. Learn how over 600 operators around the world are relying on our first-of-its-kind biological activity and water quality monitoring sensor platform to save money, prevent environmental disasters, and reduce energy use for less than $40 a day now that they can: · Better understand organic loading, industrial discharge toxicity, and the impact of I&I · Identify toxic/imbalance events · Optimize aeration efficiency and carbon dosing · Optimize digester loading How do we do it? We offer the only near maintenance-free sensors that can be placed either drop-in or in-line at your plant headworks or primary clarifier providing reliable, real-time influent insight like you’ve never had before. Ask how your colleagues in are reducing manual sampling by 80%, doubling biogas production, and identifying variable influent events. Founder & CEO of TS Conductor: award-winning, high-performance conductors made in America to modernize the world’s power grids.
A great analogy for the challenges of working with outdated technology, but on our power grid the results can be a lot worse than a bad cake. The “Great Grid Baking Challenge: baking with 1950s vs 2020s technology” from National Grid shows how much of a difference modern technology makes for successful outcomes. If you wouldn’t bake a cake with 70-year-old technology, why should we deliver electricity with it? #TSConductor #GridTech #AdvancedConductor https://lnkd.in/gRFSn5cZ
