Last week I had the honour to be invited to BAN Flanders - Business Angels Network Flanders to attend their #ImpaktKaffee & Wise Women event BergHOFF Belgium. The event covered an inspiring presentation by Hilde Rutten CEO of BergHOFF Belgium discussing their journey into sustainability/ ESG covering topics such as the EU Voluntary Reporting Standards for SMEs. (VSME) Hilde clearly pointed out the advantage of being a first mover in the creation of a sustainable value chain as a Belgian SME. Many SME’s are in the scope 3 of larger corporations; it is crucial to prepare one for ESG reporting before it becomes mandatory for these organisations.
