Following much research and discussion, the IFSCC 2022/23 Praesidium has decided to replace KOSMET with a new resource, the IFSCC Archives. On 1 January 2024, KOSMET will be terminated and will be replaced with the IFSCC Archives, which will contain all material currently in KOSMET. All existing material will be migrated over to the archive so no current information will be lost and will still be accessible to members. However, going forward, we will only add IFSCC materials to the Archives, such as posters and full papers from IFSCC Congresses, and articles from the IFSCC Magazine. Access to the IFSCC Archives will be through IFSCC.org using a single sign-in for both IFSCC.org and the IFSCC Archives, so if you haven’t already you will need to sign up to access the Archives through the member zone. #cosmeticscience #cosmeticliterature #research #randd #cosmetics #science #kosmet

New #ScienceBitesBlogging! #SciPolBites is a series of reflections from NSPN members about current issues in science and policy. In this #SciPolBite, inspired by Independence Day in July and Labor Day in September, our members reflected on the intersections between science and patriotism. Read on to see how engaging in scientific discovery and communication can make us better citizens: https://ow.ly/eIc050PyaR5

Excited to share some big news! 🌟 I've been invited to be a speaker on an important panel discussion at the upcoming iGEM competition. We'll be exploring the future of synthetic biology and a glimpse into the next century, let me ask you how Brazil can play a pivotal role in this exciting field? 🧬🇧🇷 Synthetic biology is at the forefront of cutting-edge science and innovation, and it's a privilege to represent Brazil on this international stage. I'll be discussing how our country can contribute to the global landscape of synthetic biology and the exciting potential it holds for various industries. Stay tuned for updates from the event and insights shared during the panel. If you have any burning questions about synthetic biology or the iGEM competition, drop them in the comments, and I'll do my best to address them during the discussion! Let's harness the power of science to shape a brighter future together. 💡 #iGEM #SyntheticBiology #BrazilInnovation #ScienceForTheFuture"

The final report of 'The Future of VET' study is out now! This synthesis report summarises three years of research - coordinated by #3s - involving researchers and VET experts across Europe, with discussion of findings on the content and delivery of VET, assessment practices, and the link between initial and continuing VET. The study examined how VET has changed since the mid-1990s, and how this may influence future opportunities and challenges. But rest assured: the future of VET is still unwritten... 🤩 https://lnkd.in/dxDNitud

Are you at ECIS (European #Colloid and #Interface Society meeting)? Do you wish you were? CR team member Marta Gubitosi is in Naples for ECIS 2023 for all of you who want to meet. Marta will also give a presentation on Thursday Sept 7 at 3pm. "Natural care products: a holistic study of structure and deposition of sustainable polymer and surfactant mixtures." The aim for us with the study was to see if the way we understand #coacervate forming systems today, can be transferred to and used also when new ingredients are used. Today, the theory is mainly based on data from traditional/synthetic chemistries. This is something we explore in several parallell projects also with clients and not only for coacervates. For a non-physical chemist it could maybe sound strange: why would the theory not hold? For us, it is important to know since we know how delicate the power of interactions is and the new systems are much less defined, have much larger inherent variability and this could challenge the way we deal with them. In the present study we also proved the strength of the CR perspectives: our ability to combine a discussion around both bulk and surface behaviour and our ability to critically look at the data. We see for example that the different set-ups for the two surface techniques must be acknowledged in ways that are important when designing these type of studies. We are happy we have been able to work on this subject and are grateful for the support provided by Tommy Nylander at Lund University, ISIS Neutron and Muon Source, Maria Öhman and Vinnova and of course the company Cosun Biobased Experts who provided their biobased polymer #Quatin for the study. The outcome? Yes, we understand this too! 😎 🧠 😎 The full data and slides? Listen to Marta on Thursday, reach out to us directly or wait for the publication to come! #coacervates #personalcare #foodscience #biobasedmaterials #SAXS #neutronreflectometry #ellipsometry

Formulators or other product developers in the surface- and colloid business who are attending ECIS in Naples, don't miss this presentation by Marta Gubitosi! The topic being coacervate formation and deposition, using a green surfactant-polymer system. Main take-aways (for you who can't be there): There is a need to explore green coacervates, to follow market needs for formulated products and also expand the use of coacervates to food products. 😀 A green coacervate from our model system has been identified and characterised both in bulk and on a surface. 🥳 The knowledge and rules for traditional coacervates can be transferred to green coacervates. 🫣 #Ellipsometry and #Neutron #Reflectometry are both used to look at deposition, but the set-ups are different and that may translate to different observations/outcomes. Take care interpreting!!! Thursday Sept 7 at 15:00. #ECIS2023

GESIS - Leibniz Institute for the Social Science published the report "FAIRness assessment: a comparison of the RDA model and the F-UJI Automated tool report". GESIS presented their analysis of their FAIRness of GESIS from the perspective of FAIRness assessment models and tools, such as the F-UJI tool. This assessment provided to GESIS valuable insights on what to improve, to increase their data FAIRness. Red the full report available on ZENODO https://lnkd.in/dq_3nHV7
