Reposting this powerful video from @blindmomlife, where she shares her shocking story of how birth control prescribed by her physician led to her blindness. As a passionate advocate for reproductive health rights and maternal health, this hit me hard. It's time for us to start having real conversations about the potential side effects of certain drugs and the need for proper education, awareness, and accountability. We need to demand more from our healthcare providers and policymakers to ensure that women's health is prioritized and protected. What are your thoughts? #ReproductiveHealthRights #MaternalHealthMatters #InformedConsent #Accountability

Safe motherhood Safe motherhood for all women is enshrined as a basic human right by the United Nations, yet many societies have yet to recognize and address this, and they fail to provide the necessary resources to provide adequate reproductive health, maternity, and newborn care or to enact and enforce laws to support equality for women in all aspects of their life, which includes abolition of child marriage and other harmful traditional practices. #snsinstitutions #snsdesignthinkers #designthinking

Public Health Administrator Chief, Public Health & Policy Planning Division Ministry of Health and Population, Madhesh Province
Today we are commemorating 11th National Family Planning Day (18 September 2024 / 02 Ashoj 2081) with the slogan "सुसूचित छनौट सहितको परिवार योजना सेवाः प्रजनन स्वास्थ्य अधिकार प्राप्तिमा टेवा". In Madhesh, the total fertility rate (TFR) remains high at 2.7, largely due to early pregnancies and a significant unmet need for family planning. As a result, the modern contraceptive prevalence rate (mCPR) has stagnated at 40%. Our priority is on raising awareness and improving access to family planning services across all public health facilities in Madhesh. Likewise, the Ministry of Health and Population, Madhesh Province, is actively collaborating with other government agencies, local governments, and development partners to empower girls and women for the informed choice in family planning. Although the path is challenging, we are committed to fulfilling that the reproductive rights of every citizens. #FamilyPlanning #FPDay #FamilyPlanningDay #DayCelebration #PublicHealth #MadheshHealth

A certain organization conducted research on how much a street mother earns on average monthly from begging. The study, conducted in Nairobi Town, found that these mothers earn about 10,000 KES. They beg with kids strapped on their backs to seek sympathy, and the cycle continues as they give birth to new children to maintain the hustle. Their older kids often beg just a few meters away. This calls for re-evaluation, are we fighting a losing battles? Street families menace? There is a need for community sensitization on the ripple effect of giving to these beggars and education on reproductive health. #CarePlanForStreetFamilies #StreetFamiliesMenace #NeedForCommunitySensitization #ReproductiveHealthEducation
