Neurodiversity in Organizations: How do we support this conversation? 🌱 Yesterday, we had a kickoff of the new Knowledge Sharing Group on #neurodiversity in organizations. We had 14 members joining in, everything from Aarhus Universitet and Copenhagen Business School over Novo Nordisk and Lundbeck to Hempel A/S and Administrations- og Servicestyrelsen. You see some of us in this great "green" group picture 🌱🌳 The group is initiated by one of our NOCA members; Kristina Kreiner, L&D Partner and Member of the DEI council at Hempel A/S. Kristina shared her own powerful and heartfelt professional and personal journey into neurodiversity advocacy. We support this initiative because we believe that diversity is a strength. NOCA facilitates the first two meetings because facilitating brave professional spaces for knowledge and experience sharing is our DNA. The purpose of the group is to be a growing community for neurodiverse advocacy to create more neurodiverse friendly organizations for the benefit of the neurodiverse people and their families, the organizations and society as a whole. The group allows HR-professionals who are working with neurodiversity, or those who are interested in starting, to: 🤝 Connect and Learn: Network with professionals dedicated to neurodiversity and gain valuable insights from their knowledge, practices and experiences. 📣 Contribute to organizational development and a cause: Contribute to a community by sharing their own knowledge, practices and experiences, ultimately shaping more neurodiverse-friendly organizations and societies.   This group will explore crucial topics relating to neurodiversity, such as: 🌟 The Business Case for Neurodiversity: Unlock the potential of neurodiverse talent to drive ethical behavior, innovation, and organizational performance. 🌟 Inclusive Hiring, Development, and Support: Gain insights from organizations that have successfully initiated and/or implemented neurodiversity initiatives. 🌟 Navigating Challenges: Common challenges and strategies for overcoming them in creating neurodiverse-friendly environments. As we mark the end of Asian Heritage Month and the beginning of Pride Month, we're thrilled that the National Post, Inc. has published a piece recognizing our recent report on the "Status of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility in Canada's Life Sciences Sector". The evidence is clear: we're more innovative, more accountable and more impactful when our ecosystem creates welcoming environments that embrace a universe of curiosity, creativity and challenge. "If we make good workplaces for people who've experienced barriers to employment, it means we are making good workplaces for everyone". Last week we held our Round Table Discussion and the release of the research we conducted into understanding young people’s experiences and perspectives on employment. A recording of this engaging discussion and links to the research is now available on our website: https://lnkd.in/g3WNwimb As a job-focused social enterprise, we want to continue to show that business everywhere can be done differently and break the employment barriers that young people face. Please share widely, as this first Round Table may have ended but the discussion certainly hasn’t. A recent study from Littler of over 300 company executives showed that 57% have grown their DE&I efforts since 2022, while 36% have maintained their current programs. No matter what industry we’re leading in, we should continue growing these programs while ensuring they’re consistently aligned with local regulations. Since nature and illnesses impact everyone regardless of race or religion, the life sciences industry must improve the diversity of its staff and how it engages with them. Diversity at every level of the organization makes it easier to understand the target audiences and how to best reach and support those communities. https://lnkd.in/ekw75W_m
