I agree with Samir Chaudry insights on why Spotify should acquire "Hot Ones." Adding to his points, integrating interactive features for fans could further enhance the viewing experience, making Spotify a go-to platform for exclusive, engaging content. Imagine live polls, Q&As, and behind-the-scenes clips that keep the audience coming back for more. What are your thoughts on this potential move?
I think Spotify should buy Hot Ones - Spotify is moving into video content, Hot Ones is a perfect talk show format that is listenable and watchable - can be windowed on Spotify for 24 - 48 hours then out across platforms - similar to other deals, Spotify can run ad sales for Hot Ones and package it with other original / licensed shows Considering the prices they’ve paid for licensing & sales deals for other shows (Call her daddy, Rogan) I feel like this could make a lot of sense Am I missing something ? #creatoreconomy #hotones

Spotify's robust Q2 2024 financial performance strengthens my belief that audio advertising is not just here to stay—it’s growing exponentially. Our research shows that users increasingly turn to Spotify to escape visual overload, making them more receptive to audio ads. Spotify’s cutting-edge streaming intelligence ensures that ads seamlessly integrate with the music experience, enhancing engagement rather than interrupting it. With a 20% increase in revenue and over 626 million monthly active users, the numbers speak for themselves—audio advertising is the future. If you haven’t invested in Spotify advertising, you’re missing out. The ad clutter on other platforms is overwhelming, making Spotify a more effective and less intrusive option. Let’s discuss how you can take advantage of this trend!

Is Spotify Losing Premium Subscribers? does anyone have any data on how many potential premium users Spotify is losing by redirecting them from the app to the website to be able to subscribe to Spotify Premium? From what I’ve read - it’s a necessity that makes the subscription essentially cheaper than it would’ve been otherwise but it is still pretty annoying as a user. Or are they simply not losing that many potential customers because they’ve cracked ways to drive a non-premium-paying customer to subscribe? (by limiting the number of songs that can be played, can’t forward or go backward in a song, can’t replay a song without premium, ADs after every 10-30 mins). #SpotifyPremium #DigitalMusic #StreamingWars #YouTubeMusic

Spotify Pro-tip… On Spotify, add the word ‘mix’ to your search term. Spotify’s algorithm will do its magic, and create playlists of all possible types, which are all unique to you, which may also surprise you - someone up for ‘Studying dark academia mix’? #spotify #AI #music #musicstreaming

Spotify is working to bring artists more money with a new royalty model. 👀💸 The new policies are slated to bring “an additional $1 billion in revenue toward emerging and professional artists over the next five years.” The goals of the policy are to: 1. “Further deter artificial streaming” 2. “Better distribute small payments that aren’t reaching artists” 3. “Rein in those attempting to game the system with noise” These are the two big changes to know: CHARGING FOR ARTIFICIAL STREAMING Labels and distributors will be charged per track when “flagrant artificial streaming” is detected on their content. INCREASING TRACK LENGTH REQUIREMENTS FOR NOISE RECORDINGS The minimum track length of functional noise recordings must be two minutes to be eligible for royalties. #SpotifyRoyalties #MusicBusiness #SpotifyForArtists

That's the whole world population! 😳 Crazy numbers, but not surprised. These are my hot takes: 1. Spotify has been part of many people's lives. I mean, almost in every stage of our life. You can have playlist from when you fall in love, heartbroken, your wedding day, your birthday, for a good night sleep, exercise, deep work, and many other things. (Heck, I even have a playlist called "For the Restless Heart" consists of my fav Quran surah for when I feel overwhelmed) 2. It's heavily influenced by the K-music culture. I've been following one of K-pop group for several years and witnessed how militant and well organized fans online to support them. The goal is to improve their digital scores by streaming their music as much as possible when they're having a comeback or new release. As a fan, they will make a new dedicated playlist to stream that particular song. But since listening to the same song on loop will 'hurt' the score, they will add other songs and it will look like this: Main Song, Song 1, Song 2, Song 3, Main Song, Song 4, Song 5, etc. Now multiply that with the number of comebacks and releases! This strategy is not only done by fans in SK. Would love to see the real study case for SK users though!
If you asked people what differentiates Spotify, one of the things they always cite is our playlists...but not all of the great ones are created by us. In fact, there are ~8B user-curated playlists on the platform, with 725M created since the beginning of 2024 alone. Fun fact: the country in the world that makes the most playlists per user is South Korea -- 50% more than any other 🇰🇷 🎶
