Lots to digest from ETFGI’s 5th annual Global ETFs Insights Summit the other day, including a strong sense of optimism from Arnaud Llinas, as he looked back on his career in the European #ETF industry and shared is views on what’s still to come. In particular, he highlighted the growing importance of investment savings plans for driving investment into ETFs, with around eight million of these currently active across Europe. Last year these were responsible for around 10% of net new ETF assets in Europe – roughly €15bn, up from €1bn five years ago, so there is clear momentum here. Arnaud talked about this as a next phase in the growth of the European ETF industry, where the combination of better technology, lower costs, and innovations like fractional ETF trading, is making major retail participation much more of a reality than before – something the industry has been waiting for, for years. We left with the clear sense that the future is bright, with more growth, more innovation and more opportunity still to come! #Europe #investment #outlook

Assets invested in actively managed #ETFs listed globally reached a new record of $1.05 Tn at the end of September beating the previous record of $1.01 Tn at the end of August 2024, source ETFGI research. In the United States where actively managed #ETFs are able to use semi or non-transparent models we see that only 52 of the 1,659 actively managed ETFs use a semi or non-transparent model and account for only $14 billion of the $791 billion in these strategies. Highlights ·      Assets invested in actively managed ETFs listed globally reached a new record of $1.05 Tn at the end of September beating the previous record of $1.01 Tn at the end of August 2024. ·      Assets invested have increased 42.5% year-to-date in 2024, going from $737.06 Bn at the end of 2023 to $1.05 Tn. ·      Net inflows of $26.85 Bn during September 2024. ·      Year-to-date net inflows of $240.14 Bn are the highest on record, followed by year-to-date net inflows of $113.80 Bn in 2023, and the third highest record was year to date net inflows of $106.90 Bn in 2021. ·      54th month of consecutive net inflows.
