Happy Plastic Free July! Plastic Free July is a global movement dedicated to turning the tide on plastic waste, one choice at a time. Public concern for plastic pollution is high, and this movement empowers individuals to make a difference by refusing single-use plastics in their daily lives. Since 2011, millions have taken the challenge to go plastic free in July, proving that collective action creates long-term behavior change. In 2021 alone, participants reduced landfill waste by 1.2 billion kg and plastic consumption by 0.3 million tons. What started with 40 individuals has now mobilized millions globally. Today, let's commit to reducing our plastic use, spreading awareness, and supporting policies to end plastic pollution. Every effort counts. Together, we can create a sustainable future. 🌱♻️ Be part of the challenge here: https://lnkd.in/ergYNRKq #PlasticFreeJuly #Sustainability #ZeroWaste #EndPlasticPollution

Take the challenge and go Plastic Free in July Want to challenge yourself and go Plastic Free? Join the millions of people choosing to say no to single-use plastic and take part in the Plastic Free July challenge. Start with your morning coffee! Did you know Australians use an estimated 1.8 billion disposable coffee cups each year? Most of these end up in landfill. Single-use coffee cups have a plastic liner, so they can’t go in recycling bins. Even those labelled ‘compostable’ can’t go in our food and garden bins. Will you make the simple switch? Together we can make a difference and be a part of the solution to reduce plastic waste. Take the challenge!

Plastic-free July may be over, but the principles carry over to August (and the rest of the year!) At the heart of the Plastic Free July movement is the idea that small changes in plastic usage can add up to make a significant difference. That notion is at the core of Polycarbin’s #evidencebasedsustainability approach. The enormity of the climate change crisis and plastic pollution problem can feel overwhelming, so much so that it can be challenging to begin taking meaningful actions ourselves. But the opportunity to reduce plastic waste is in your hands - literally. The tubes, tips, and other plastic consumables that are used at the bench daily can actually work to create a less polluted environment when they are managed via a circular economy approach. Small changes to plastic management in the lab -> major carbon reductions. Efforts to reduce plastic usage don’t need to be isolated to a single month of the year. Being more thoughtful about plastics - whether that means using a reusable water bottle or choosing circular recycling programs for your lab - is a critical step toward greater carbon emission reductions globally. #PlasticFreeJuly #CircularEconomy #CarbonFootprint https://lnkd.in/eJXJnZ3n

It's Plastic-Free July! Did you know that - 8 billion tons of legacy plastic currently pollute the Earth - 91% of plastic is not recycled but heads to landfills and, eventually oceans - 9-14 million tons of plastic waste enter the oceans every year + 800 wildlife species are negatively impacted by this waste We’re doing our part. Fair Harbor has repurposed more than 35 million plastic bottles to make our apparel, and that’s just the beginning. We’re always working on new ways to use earth-friendly fabrics and responsible production practices. In honor of Plastic Free July, we challenge you to reduce your plastic use so that we’ll run out of fabric one day. If you want to find out how to use less plastic this month and going forward, join the global movement to find a solution. https://lnkd.in/e_aMwKcu
