More Than Co-Workers: Champions in the Face of Challenges Today, I want to raise a toast (virtually, of course) to celebrate an often underrated aspect of our professional lives: the power of supportive colleagues. Yes, we strive for individual goals, but let's be real, complex organizational or client problems rarely get tackled in a solo mission. It all starts with the everyday things. Borrowing a tie and jacket to avoid a "fashion faux pas" 😉 during a meeting or sharing a quick lunch break where you can "vent, strategize, and maybe indulge in a slice of stress-relief cake." These moments foster a sense of camaraderie and build the trust that becomes crucial down the line. But the true magic happens when faced with bigger challenges. Imagine walking into the most important pitch of your career, knowing your team is there, not just in the room, but standing by your side, ready to catch any fall and amplify your success. That's the kind of support that helps you push beyond your comfort zone and deliver your A-game. Supporting colleagues isn't just about offering help; it's about creating an environment where everyone feels empowered, valued, and part of something bigger. It's about building champions, not competitors. And that, in turn, fuels a collective sense of achievement and propels us all forward, one challenge at a time. So here's to the amazing colleagues who make the journey as enriching as the destination. Thank you for being my champions! There are many of you naming each one will exceed the word limit 😀 thank you for always being there #teamwork #supportivecolleagues #professionaldevelopment Picture credit my son Views expressed are personal

🎩 Hats off to the Legal Marketing team BAT for taking time out of their packed schedules to invest in themselves — both as individuals and as a team! Throughout the day, the team explored their preferred communication styles, uncovering fresh insights even in long-standing relationships. (Who else has discovered they don’t enjoy being spoken to while eating? 🙋🏾♀️) We revisited the DISC model and mapped out the dynamics of this newly-formed team. Looking at their strengths & watch outs - how do you ensure every voice is heard? The answer begins with greater self-awareness, and each member of this team is fully committed to recognising their uniques differences to elevate & promote one another. To move this team through the stages of storming, norming, and performing, we co-created phrases to respectfully challenge one another. After all, high-performing teams thrive on constructive disagreement — a key driver of better problem-solving and innovation. (check out Google’s Project Aristotle) We wrapped up the day by crafting a shared Team Ethos that leaves you in no doubt as to the culture this team is creating! 🙌 Our thanks goes to Sara Scott for bringing Inner Leader Ltd in to deliver this day for the team. We look forward to working with you all again! 😊

Bringing Teams Together and Turning Challenges into Opportunities 🚀 Recently, we had the pleasure of helping HARIBO UK to integrate three newly formed departments into a cohesive, high-performing team. Their goal? To align team purpose and identity, build trust and get to know each other better—all while having some serious fun 🎯 This is their fourth visit to us, and again, they reached out with a clear focus on team building, vision, and collaboration. So, how do we achieve the above while remaining engaging, memorable and effective? 🔍 Understanding the Needs After an initial call, we quickly identified key focus areas—keeping the team alert in the morning, re-energising after lunch, and aligning activities with the company’s values. We knew we needed to blend strategy with creativity. 🛠️ Designing the Perfect Day We proposed a schedule that combined focused discussions with interactive activities: - Minigame Mayhem to get the day started with a jolt of energy. - Internal Presentations to align vision and purpose. - Cryptic Chase to boost problem-solving skills and collaboration. - Soap Box Racing as the grand finale, challenging teams to build, sell, and race their creations. 🤝 Customising the Approach We proposed mixing the three departments into five teams to foster collaboration and allow everyone to connect with colleagues across the business. With the team-building aligned directly with their key values, the activities became more than just fun—they were strategic, too. By understanding their needs and goals, we created a tailored solution that brought their team together and set them up for success. Kids and grown-ups love it so, it’s the happy world of... free sweets for our instructors 🍬

Think success is 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 about hard work? 🤔 (It’s also about how you celebrate it) 🥳💃🥂 We know that our recent achievements and milestones at Cleancorp are the direct result of team's dedication and relentless effort. So, what did we do? We stepped away from our desks and came together for a beautiful work lunch at Sails on Lavender Bay. But it felt like anything but ‘work’. Here's the thing: When your workplace genuinely feels like a family, well... work doesn't feel like "work". We know the word 'family' gets thrown around a lot in corporate settings. And let’s be honest… 'family' is often used to label team unity without actually putting in the work to create real connections. But when you celebrate each other, share stories, and build stronger connections, It doesn’t feel like a work event – it feels like a gathering of friends. So, here’s what last Friday reminded us of: 👉 That we win together as a team. 👉 We absolutely own it, day in and day out, when it comes to work 👉 Our leadership is collaborative, rather than from the top down We cherish these opportunities to come together to not only highlight, but most of all, celebrate the people we "win together" with.

There is no greater power for change than a team discovering what it truly cares about and the engagement which results from that passion. Engagement is working to make a difference and developing the combination of knowledge, skills, values and motivation to make that difference. Engagement and ownership go hand in hand. At the end of the day, the most overwhelming key to success is involvement. Do more than belong - participate. Do more than care - help. Do more than believe - practice. Do more than watch - volunteer. Our team continues to make a difference. #culture #team

I had a really creative afternoon yesterday sitting round the kitchen table with Sandra Whiles (She/Her) It's amazing the ideas that are generated when tea and homemade cake are involved! Sandra and I are a great team. We share the same values yet have very different skills. Sandra is creative and a bit more tech savvy, I'm brave and provide the building blocks. We're both up for learning and growth. Between us we deliver stuff that really helps our clients recognise their own values and skills. What values do you share with your colleagues? What strengths of theirs do you celebrate? How often do you share tea and cake and let the ideas flow? #TeamDevelopment #CollaborativeGrowth #CollaborativeGrowth #ClientSuccess

I help b2b service businesses make marketing their superpower | Agency Growth Survey Author | B2B Marketing | Advisory Board Exec | Speaker
Our focus on targets at Cactus is relentless. But not in a high pressured, hit them or die sort of way, but rather in a way where they're front of mind and everything we do and every action we take is to help us take a step closer to them. Our focus on targets defines our culture. One that is open, transparent and everyone knows what is expected and their role in making a difference. We review them and our progress against them regularly and we're committed to supporting one another with them. We all share in the rewards when they're achieved. This results in constant forward momentum, clarity on priorities and an easy decision on what we spend our time on and where. If it doesn't contribute to achieving our targets - our growth - we're unlikely go there. Targets don't have to be a stick you beat your agency with. They can be a central strategy towards your north star ⭐️
