Making sure that there is sufficient and high-quality food for all of us is one of the main goals of the common agricultural policy. In recent months EU countries have agreed on measures to support farmers in their key role as food providers. These measures will relieve farmers, especially those on smaller farms, of some administrative and environmental requirements. It will make it easier for farmers to carry out their work without compromising the EU’s environmental and climate goals. On 15 July, agriculture ministers from the 27 member countries will be meeting in Brussels to discuss challenges for farming, with a focus on trade issues and rural areas.
