It’s B Corp Month – and we have just received our plaque. As you can see, we are rather chuffed! Being a B Corp means we’ve met an ambitious set of business standards that are better for people and the planet. B Corp Certification is just the beginning, not the end of our journey to better business. We never stop looking for new ways to grow our impact. Our current focus is socio-economic uplift. So, we are in the process of partnering with a number of charities to help people of all backgrounds get into sustainability. We are also looking at charities which focus on levelling up for all, across the board, not just in our sector. #BCorpMonth #unwasted #forevermovingforward

‘What Makes a Great Charity’? 😊 🏆📢 Here is what Natalie Egleton of FRRR (Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal) had to say; “A great charity is led from the top and the bottom, driven by lived values and experience coupled with strategic nous and a carefully balanced level of commercial acumen. They have a clear and realistic ambition that reflects their focus, scale, and the relative complexity of the issues they seek to address. Great charities have a genuine understanding of their place and role in the sectors and systems they operate in. They know what they are great at, know their worth, and resist temptations to diversify outside their lane as funding cycles and trends come and go. They serve the greater good by harnessing and deploying their expertise and collaborating meaningfully. They get outcomes and tell great stories that bring others along, create a shared vision, and sense of progress. A great charity is well-resourced, makes a profit and can plan ahead for several years. Charities should never let their own survival be their focus – great charities ask themselves regularly whether they should be trying to do themselves out of business, if that’s what achieving the mission would result in.” READ THE VIEWS OF OTHERS IN THIS NATIONAL CONVERSATION https://lnkd.in/ggME_N7C #socialchangeAustralia #socialpurpose #greatcharity #Philanthropy

Some days, like today, I feel heartbroken by the realities of what vulnerable communities face. Picking up of plastic might seem so useless, but I remain resolute in the empowerment of our charities’ EcoChangeMakers programme. I need to remind myself that as a charity we can, by default, empower acceleration across the sustainable development goals by relentlessly taking every step we can, even if only in tiny increments. #iamtheripple #startaripple #wemustnevergiveup #rippleeffect #impact2030 #itsajourney

Who are you comparing to? I hear from other charities leaders who compare themselves to E Tū Tāngata, wondering how we have grown so fast and had such impact across the country. But I always encourage them to run their own race. Every organisation—and every person—has a unique journey, and it’s not about how you stack up against others. At E Tū Tāngata we believe that you have value, just as you are. When we stop comparing, we free ourselves to think differently, innovate, and find our own path to success. Embracing what makes us unique is where true strength lies. Let’s shift the focus from comparison to celebrating each other’s differences. When we do this, we all succeed together. #YouHaveValue #ETuTangata #RunYourOwnRace #CelebrateUniqueness #ChampionEachOther
