Sustainability covers so many things, but the definition we think sums it up the best is: “Contributing to long-term wellbeing for all people and the planet” Sustainability isn’t just carbon footprints, environmental protection and green living, although of course it’s a big part of it. But it also covers issues such as social justice, inequality, and discrimination. At PPP, we see being a sustainable photographer as being environmentally and socially conscious and understanding the direct and indirect impacts of the work that we do. The summer is finally here, honestly, it really is. Holidays ahead of us, gardens and open spaces looking lush and vibrant 🌻 Thinking about being green, in the studio we aim to have the least environmental impact as possible on every shoot. A sustainable shoot need not cost more and it has no impact on quality. A few of the ways we make our shoots green are: Replacing materials that can no longer be used with more environmentally friendly alternatives. Buying and producing only what is required for the shoot. Making it easy for our visitors to recycle. Reusing or repurposing items after the job is finished. Whales ending up stranded on beaches stem from various reasons, like natural events such as death or ocean currents pushing them ashore, and health issues like sickness, injury, disorientation, or hunger. However, human actions also play a big role. Overfishing, Ship Strikes, and Pollution are the main human-induced causes. Overfishing disrupts marine life, pushing predators closer to coastal areas. Pollution, including plastic, chemicals, oil spills, and noise, harms marine ecosystems. Recent and past instances of whale strandings highlight the urgency of addressing this issue, often overlooked. As a designer, I chose Sneaker design as my canvas for raising awareness on LinkedIn.
