♻️Recycling: Key Statistics and Trends🌍 Did you know that recycling saves energy, reduces landfill waste, and significantly lowers carbon emissions? In the UK alone, recycling rates have risen steadily, with packaging and household waste showing remarkable progress. However, there's still a long way to go to meet ambitious sustainability targets. As industries and households adopt better recycling practices, we edge closer to a greener future. Let’s keep pushing for a sustainable tomorrow! #Recycling #Sustainability #GreenLiving #CircularEconomy #ClimateAction Eurasia Group Greenlight Re Innovations Paper Excellence

Resource and #wastemanagement has rapidly evolved over the past thirty years, shifting from landfill as the primary solution to a leading force in achieving net-zero goals. #Reuse plays a crucial role in this journey toward net-zero and a #circulareconomy, yet it is often overshadowed by #recycling. Despite ranking higher in the waste hierarchy, reuse is frequently overlooked, trailing only prevention as the optimal approach to managing resources and waste. https://lnkd.in/ecNTjatG Waste is not rubbish—it’s a valuable resource. By rethinking waste, we can conserve resources, reduce pollution, and create a circular economy in which materials are reused and recycled. At Titan Resource Management, we believe in turning what’s discarded into something valuable. Businesses, especially in recycling, play a vital role in this transformation. Let’s move from a “throwaway” culture to one that sees waste as opportunity. #Recycling #CircularEconomy #Sustainability #WasteNot #TitanResourceManagement

🚮 A series of recently published #Studies looked at how U.S. citizens perceive the waste system and their own participation in it. The results seem to indicate that many systematically overlook source reduction (that is, producing less waste in the first place) in favour of #Recycling. ♻️This is a tendency known as ‘recycling bias’. As such, nearly half of the respondents thought that recycling was the best thing they could do for #Sustainability, and most participants thought that source reduction and reuse were roughly equivalent to recycling and composting in terms of environmental impact. 🌎 Find out more:

Understanding Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) is a crucial environmental policy approach aimed at ensuring that producers take responsibility for the entire lifecycle of their products. This means that manufacturers are not only accountable for the design and production of their goods but also for their disposal and recycling. By incorporating EPR, companies are encouraged to create products that are easier to recycle, reuse, or repurpose, reducing waste and minimizing environmental impact. EPR shifts the burden of waste management from municipalities to producers, fostering sustainable practices and innovative product designs. It incentivizes companies to improve the recyclability of their products, develop take-back schemes, and contribute to the cost of waste management systems. Implementing EPR can lead to significant benefits, including reduced landfill use, lower greenhouse gas emissions, and enhanced resource recovery. It aligns with the broader goals of a circular economy, where products are kept in use for as long as possible, and waste is minimized. To see how EPR is integrated into our self-sustainable city project, and how it contributes to our vision of a greener future, read our latest blog article. #ExtendedProducerResponsibility #EPR #Sustainability #CircularEconomy #GreenLiving #WasteManagement #EcoFriendly #Recycling #SelfSustainableCity https://lnkd.in/gAJhQnmU

Implementing a circular economy, which optimizes the use of raw materials and minimizes waste🧃🥤, is becoming increasingly essential. ✔ This approach involves reusing and recycling♻ materials as much as possible to generate continuous value and reduce environmental impact🌍. ✔ The European Union Waste Framework Directive (2008/98/EC) supports this transition by promoting practices of reduction, reuse, and recycling. ✔ Additionally, it introduces key concepts such as #byproduct and #endofwastestatus, which are crucial for transforming🏭 waste into valuable resources. #Sustainability #Recycling #EU #Environment
