Today, Euro NCAP releases the results for three #Chinese #electric family #cars: the BYD SEAL, XPENG P7 and the BYD DOLPHIN. These cars have made their first splash in Europe’s market with the glamorous BYD SEAL targeting TESLA’s core buyers, the sleek XPENG P7 showcasing its long-distance range capability, and the BYD DOLPHIN underlining its value for money as an electric vehicle. Euro NCAP today reveals that these cars have all achieved five-star ratings in the programme’s most stringent testing yet. In today’s super-competitive European car market, #Chinese manufacturers are keen to demonstrate that their cars are a match for better-established brands. And the cars released today show that #safety is one of the areas where they compete, to the benefit of car-buyers. All three have achieved Euro NCAP’s highest star rating, with little to choose between them, particularly in the areas of adult and child #crash #protection. And all three are well-equipped with an impressive range of #safety #technologies, including lane and speed assistance.

Despite a significant accident that occurred several years ago, the situation hasn't changed. As depicted in the photo, a car veered off the road and came to a halt directly in front of our test center. Once again, we see the significance of vehicle safety on our roads. Thankfully, due to modern front safety systems, which also incorporate airbags for pedestrian protection in accordance with UN ECE Regulation No. 127, there were no serious injuries. 👏 These airbags visible on the car's bonnet are designed to mitigate the severity of injuries that pedestrians and other vulnerable road users may suffer in the event of a collision with the front of a vehicle. UN ECE Regulation No. 127 outlines rigorous requirements for the design and functionality of front protection systems for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, ensuring the safety of all road users. Road safety is a collective mission, and it's crucial for vehicle manufacturers to adhere to the latest safety standards. The freight industry often gets a rough ride, but contrary to popular belief many truck manufacturers already go well beyond mandatory minimum standards. For example, higher performance AEB for vehicle collisions, AEB for pedestrian and cyclist collisions, direct vision, camera monitor systems and more. Despite many commercial challenges, there are also plenty of truck operators prepared to pay for the added safety those systems offer. This initiative from Euro NCAP can help to highlight that best practice, spread it across the industry and create the commercial environment that will in future enable manufacturers to invest even more in ever-better safety performance. There has been plenty of challenges along the way, and lots more still to do, but we at Apollo are very pleased that Trucks Euro NCAP trusted us to play our small part to help them get it to this point. We very much look forward to seeing the first scores come in and how it develops from there.

🚨 Euro NCAP releases the first Truck Safe programme test protocols 🚨 Today, Euro NCAP unveils the test protocols that will support the framework for its new Truck Safe rating scheme and lead the way to Zero Crashes on European roads. 🛣️ "Euro NCAP’s new Truck Safe rating scheme, the first of its kind in the sector, will enable a whole range of stakeholders in the freight industry to assess the safety level of trucks. Not only will this deliver enhanced safety for truck drivers, but also protect pedestrians, cyclists, and other vulnerable road users in European cities. ⭐The BYD DOLPHIN makes a splash with a 5-star rating ⭐ Euro NCAP recently performed the latest safety assessment on the small electric family car of the Chinese manufacturer BYD. The DOLPHIN jumps high with five stars, particularly noted in adult and child safety protection. It also comes equipped with a range of safety technologies. In line with Euro NCAP's 2023 update of the safety protocols, the DOLPHIN includes child presence detection to alert drivers of infants left in a vehicle. BYD also proved that if the car became submerged in extreme weather conditions, the locked doors could be unlocked within two minutes of power loss, and electric windows would function long enough for occupants to escape.
