There is this new program called "100% Únicos", in Spanish Television. This program brings together 30 individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), where they pose diverse types of questions to Spanish celebrities. A part from captivating viewers with its unique concept, the show aims to shed light on the reality of living with ASD and its impact on daily life, both for individuals with ASD and their surroundings. This project serves as a platform to foster understanding and awareness. This project isn't just charity; it's a chance for all of us to learn. Autism is like a different language, a unique way of understanding life. Sometimes, our society doesn't really listen to people with autism, and that's what this show is changing. Breaking Stereotypes: A Drive Towards Equality. Every now and then, on Bangalore roads, I hear the age-old comment, “There, that’s a woman driver—beware.” It’s hurtful, misogynistic, and a reflection of deeper societal issues. But there’s a grain of truth in why this perception exists. Women have been oppressed by men and society for so long that many are just now starting to take the wheel, literally. Like every challenge, the solution lies in two parts: 1. Women Taking the Wheel: More women need to shed the fears, overcome the oppression, ignore the insults, and get behind the wheel. I strongly believe that, just as in every other field, women on the roads can bring a much-needed sense of discipline. They follow the rules meticulously—perhaps another result of patriarchal conditioning—but it’s a positive one. Drive with confidence, even if you start with those “Learner” symbols on your car. You never know how much confidence another woman might draw from seeing you behind the wheel. Just ignore the honking breed, break it and slay it. 2. Men Showing Patience and Respect: Men, including myself, need to be more patient with women drivers. It’s time we stopped the misogynistic remarks and spoke up when others make them. I commit to not saying anything foul to women drivers and to speaking up every time I hear something inappropriate from a cab driver, auto driver, co-passenger, or anyone else—regardless of their gender. Let’s drive towards a more equal and respectful society, both on and off the road. Here is one video I found capturing the essence, found it to be the best of the lot. After being left behind by buses more times than I care to remember, being dropped off at the incorrect stop, being refused service by Uber drivers and getting more disappointed by public transport then I care to be, I am extremely excited to share what we are doing at Hailo with the world. Public transport is public! It should work for all. However, regardless of where you are in the world, the accessibility issues restrict its usage by persons with disabilities.
