The outcome of the SBRI competition on quantum test beds to be delivered to NQCC is now out. For quantum technology to develop we need the government to act as a customer while use cases are further developed. https://lnkd.in/eyZQSafF

At the All Hands of ETP4HPC, together with Nico Mittenzwey (MEGWARE Computer Vertrieb und Service GmbH), we presented our contribution to the Research Domain “System Architecture”, led by Estela Suarez (Juelich Supercomputing Centre) within the framework of the Strategic Research Agenda 6 (SRA6) Update. The SRA aims at being the Go-To, vendor neutral document capturing the state of Advanced Computing (AC) in Europe, and providing a roadmap for the further development of a competitive AC European ecosystem. The input provided by SRA6 to EuroHPC support in the long-term the definition of a European research and innovation agenda, and in the short-term highlight which research topics to support for R&I funding. SRA6’ Research Domains “System Architecture” deals with the evolution of overall HPC system architecture including the integration of the different hardware and software components, including processors, memory, network, storage and associated system administration aspects. #E4ComputerEngineering #EuroHPC

A nice paper I have co-authored, "Malleability in Modern HPC Systems: Current Experiences, Challenges, and Future Opportunities", is now trending topic at IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems. You can see the paper at: 10.1109/TPDS.2024.3406764. A nice example of cooperation between ADMIRE EUROHPC project and other EuroHPC Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) projects.

Historic moment: The Grand Duché de Luxembourg announced on a pressconference its selection as a hosting site for an EuroHPC quantum computer. This will be installed next to the EuroHPC supercomputer 'MELUXINA', hosted in Luxembourg. The quantum computer is co-funded 50/50 between the European Union and Luxembourg. The press conference was attended by , Lex Delles, Luxembourg Minister of the Economy, SME, Energy and Tourism Ministère de l'Économie, Stéphanie Obertin, Luxembourg Minister for Digitalisation, Research and Higher Education Ministère de la Digitalisation, Arnaud Lambert , CEO of LuxProvide (the hosting entity of the future quantum computer), Gustav Kalbe, Acting Director of DG Communications Networks, Content and Technology of the European Commission and Anders Dam Jensen Jensen, EuroHPC JU Executive Director This is yet another milestone in the progress towards the EU's Digital Decade target to have a hybrid HPC-quantum computer operational in 2025 and be a world-leading region in quantum technologies by 2030.
