Europe's aerospace clusters are as diverse as the regions they call home, let's get to know them - today we are looking at the ANDALUCÍA AEROSPACE Cluster Empresarial🚀✨ Nestled in the south of Spain, the Andalucía Aerospace Cluster thrives in a region where major OEMs and an extensive network of auxiliary companies converge. This strategic location places it in close logistical proximity to key markets, amplifying its impact on the aerospace industry. Formed in 2017, Andalucía Aerospace is a cluster with a clear mission — to fortify and elevate its member companies in both national and international aerospace markets. With over 95 member companies, the cluster's skill set spans across the entire aircraft production process, from design and engineering to metal and composites manufacturing, quality assurance, and beyond. The Andalusian aerospace sector has a turnover of more than 2,300 million and creates more than 13,000 direct jobs. The cluster management offers a wide spectrum of services for its members, from internal and external networking, professional events, and business promotion to representation in various forums, training programs, and innovation services. Andalucía Aerospace is not only a regional force but also a global collaborator for businesses and collaborative European projects. I've just had the following email about a Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) lecture next Tuesday 6:30pm in Filton at BAWA: _____________________________________________________________________________________ ZEROe – A Sustainable Future for Aviation by Andy Reynolds, Head of Hydrogen Storage and Distributions, Airbus Operations Ltd. _____________________________________________________________________________________ "Achieving net zero by 2050 is a huge challenge for the aerospace industry. Airbus is leading the way in addressing this challenge - developing today's aircraft, supporting the introduction of SAF [Sustainable Aviation Fuel ie made from non fossil fuel sources] and launching ZEROe. Andy will be introducing his work and giving us an update on the ZEROe project." Our first lecture of the season will be held in the Concorde Room at BAWA, where Andy Reynolds of Airbus will introduce the work towards achieving Net Zero by 2050 and the challenges the Aerospace industry faces. Airbus is leading the way in addressing these challenges through devoloping today’s aircraft, supporting the introduction of SAF and launching ZEROe, which is where Andy will focus his talk. The lecture starts at 1830. It is free of charge and open to members and non-members alike. There is no need to pre-register for this lecture. Branch AGM Preceding the lecture – and starting at 1800 – we will hold the branch AGM, where we will formally elect the following branch officers for the coming year: Branch President, Branch Chair, Branch Secretary and Treasurer. There is no requirement to attend both the AGM and the lecture. We would anticipate that the AGM will be finished at 1815, however if you wish to only attend the lecture, feel free to arrive before 1815. Both events are being held in the Concorde Room, BAWA, Southmead Road (BS34 7RG). The Concorde room can be reached from the main reception of the building immediately in front of the sports pitches (entrance: /// ranked.anyone.sang). There will be plenty of parking onsite.
