We need a European Tech Deal 💡 Technology and democracy belong together, just like technology and climate protection - and Europe can do both! For us to further ignite Europe's potential for technological innovation, we must bundle, significantly strengthen, and make visible our activities for a strong European tech location. To this end, Sergey Lagodinsky and I argue why a European Tech Deal is now needed and how it could unleash a new dynamic to develop ground-breaking technology "made in Europe", which POLITICO reported on today. Meaningful Step Forward in Strategic Technologies for Europe Yesterday, European Parliament has approved the Strategic Technologies for Europe Platform (STEP). STEP’s main goal is to enhance EU's sovereignty and long-term competitiveness in key technologies. This platform aims to attract investments in digital, deep and clean technologies and biotech sectors by setting financial incentives and measures to facilitate project financing. STEP uses funding from established EU programs. This includes cohesion policy funds, InvestEU, Horizon Europe, the European Defence Fund, the Innovation Fund, and the Recovery and Resilience Facility. Within the framework of STEP, projects that actively contribute to achieving STEP objectives will receive a Sovereignty Seal. This distinctive label serves as a mark of quality, facilitating their eligibility for EU funding and enhancing their appeal to potential investors. By fostering collaboration and providing financial support, STEP will drive Europe towards a more innovative, competitive, and sovereign future. #STEP #ChristianEhler #StrategicTech #KeyTechnologies #EU

"Unlock the Future: Discovering the Untapped Potential of Horizon Europe!" With the advent of Horizon Europe, we are standing on the precipice of a new era of innovation and creativity. This revolutionary programme is set to ignite an innovation explosion, rewriting the rules of the game and transforming how we approach science, research and technology. What is Horizon Europe, you ask? It's an ambitious €95.5 billion funding programme that aims to bolster scientific and technological advancements across the European Union. With a sharp focus on promoting innovation, the programme is poised to drive Europe to the forefront of global technological development. The journey of innovation is not a solitary one. It is a collaborative effort that requires the sharing of knowledge, ideas, and insights. This is where dissemination comes into play. It ensures that the findings and results of Horizon Europe are shared widely, fostering a culture of collective learning and growth. Communication, too, plays a pivotal role in this journey. It helps bridge the gap between the scientific community and the broader public, facilitating a dialogue about the importance and implications of the research being conducted. The goal is to make science accessible and understandable to all. Exploitation is another key aspect of Horizon Europe. It's about taking the results of the programme and turning them into practical applications that can benefit society at large. This could be anything from new technologies and products, to policies and services that improve our everyday lives. Horizon Europe is not just about innovation, it's about creating a better, more sustainable future for everyone. It's about breaking down barriers and pushing the boundaries of what is possible. Tech2Market can easily support you in your work on Horizon Europe proposal, as DEC leader.
