Our Executive Director Leena Yla-Mononen today signed an agreement with Harm van de Wetering, Director of the NSO - Netherlands Space Office (NSO) that will strengthen the collaboration between the Copernicus EEA Land Monitoring Service (#CLMS) and Dutch users and stakeholders. The agreement aims to support the EEA’s cooperation on the #LandMonitoring Service. This will be achieved by having a channel with countries to receive their feedback regarding our product portfolio and to gather their future requirements. Copernicus is a #userdriven service to evolve to the next Copernicus phase beyond 2028, where we would like to increase the support to #environmentalpolicies across Europe. Our Executive Director Leena Yla-Mononen is heading an important country visit to the #Netherlands this week to strengthen ties with our Dutch #climateandenvironment partners. For the last 30 years, the EEA has been working at European level to create and assess scientific knowledge to inform the #policymaking process. The PBL Planbureau voor de Leefomgeving together with the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management and the Ministry of Climate Policy and Green Growth are key partners for the EEA in building our cooperation. Meetings included talks with Chris Jansen, Dutch State Secretary for Public Transport and the Environment, Afke van Rijn, Director-General of Environment and International Affairs at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, and Marko Hekkert, Director of the PBL Planbureau voor de Leefomgeving (Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency) as well as other Dutch members of the EEA's Eionet (European environment network) including Niels Kastelein and Ralph Brieskorn.
