Big fan of these initiatives: NTT DOCOMO and Space Compass partners with Airbus on HAPS, committing to a USD$100 million investment in AALTO 3 June 2024 A consortium of Japanese businesses (“the Japanese Consortium”) led by NTT DOCOMO, Inc. (“NTT DOCOMO”) and Space Compass Corporation (“Space Compass”), together with Mizuho Bank Limited and the Development Bank of Japan Inc., has committed to invest USD$100min AALTO HAPS Limited (“AALTO”), which manufactures and operates the stratospheric, solar-powered Zephyr High Altitude Platform Station (HAPS). The investment will be made through the Japanese Consortium’s investment vehicle, HAPS JAPAN Corporation. This investment marks the beginning of a strategic alliance to commercialise connectivity and earth observation services using HAPS in Japan and across Asia. We are excited to announce that we successfully closed a seed round in the 7-digit € range! This significant milestone marks an important moment in Volateq's journey towards AI-enabled and fully automated predictive maintenance of solar fields. Started in 2020 as a spin-off of Deutsches Zentrum für Luft-und Raumfahrt e.V. the past international successes in drone-based and fully automated health checks of #CSP plants has made us ready to expand our solution to #SolarPV plants. "We are using the financing round as an opportunity to prepare Volateq for team growth and further international expansion," says Dr.-Ing. Christoph Prahl, Co-founder and Managing Director of Volateq. The key to Volateq's solution is the ability to transform image data from solar power plants captured by consumer grade drones into highly accurate performance data. This data shows solar power plant operators and plant owners exactly where and how the plant can improve its performance to maximise solar yield. We are immensely grateful for the support from our investors and partners BeAI GmbH, Scarabaeus Capital, Gerhard Neidhöfer, Helge Meyer as well as NRW.BANK, DLR Start-up Factory and a group of Angel Investors. Big news! We are proud to announce a new deal between Akila and the Monte-Carlo train station in Monaco. This marks the second project with Groupe SNCF following the delivery of a project at Marseille Saint-Charles station. Monaco is striving to be a pioneer in digital transition and sustainable development, implementing an ambitious goal to modernize all of its public transport. The digitalization of Monte-Carlo station with Akila is part of this process and a key milestone in the journey towards sustainable development. The Akila platform will provide monitoring, real-time tracking, and a 3D digitalization of the structure and equipment in the Digital Twin, as well as operational tools in the Asset and Energy SUITES. What once were siloed systems are now all integrated into the Akila Platform, streamlining operations and improving efficiency. With all systems and data integrated into a centralized location, Akila can provide highly accurate measurements of the station’s carbon footprint and set baselines for energy consumption and performance. With the deployment of Akila, Monaco will have one of the most digitalized railway stations in Europe, gaining value for station operators and, ultimately, the passengers.
