On the ocassion of Climate Week one issue to consider is the relevance of increasing disclosure regulations however it may represent an opportunity rather than a setback for businesses. I would like to share ERM's 8 steps that may enhance efforts and reduce risks and the different disclosure regulation analysis. Whether you are already strategically updated and progressing in your business or not, these document could benefit your endeavors. #ClimateWeek #Sustainability #BusinessStrategy
The Climate Week NYC organizers hope to trigger progress on an ambitious list of topics. Disclosure regulations are an indispensable ally for all of them. Our latest briefing compares the main pillars of the sustainability disclosure ecosystem and how they reshape business. Scientists warn almost daily that climate change is accelerating, and we can see and feel its impact all around us. At the same time, many companies are struggling to get their climate efforts into higher gear. The rallying cry of this year’s Climate Week NYC captures it well: It’s time. For companies, it’s time to decisively switch from setting goals to putting them into operational action. This is the best way to both lower risks and seize the economic opportunities of the current transformation. At what speed this will happen depends in no small measure on the emerging sustainability disclosure ecosystem and the level of pressure on companies it will generate. Our briefing compares CSRD, ISSB, the SEC Climate Rule, and California SB 253/261, exploring scope, overlaps, interoperability, and their joint potential to reshape the corporate landscape. #CSRD #ISSB #SustainabilityDisclosure #ClimateWeekNYC Catherine (Katie) Osborn, Justin Nelson

#NaturebasedSolutions are now widely recognised as playing a critical role in addressing major global challenges, in particular mitigating and adapting to climate change whilst delivering multiple benefits for people and nature. However, there remains confusion about what counts as a nature-based solution, how they compare to tech-based approaches, and how they should be designed, implemented, financed and governed ethically and sustainably. To address this, we offer the Nature-based Solutions to Global Challenges Foundation Course to improve awareness and understanding of the science, policy, practice, resourcing and governance of nature-based solutions. Registrations open for next term. The Nature-based Insights team run a fun and insightful day on business & biodiversity. The nature regulatory and reporting frameworks are shifting rapidly to align with the global goals of the #ParisAgreement and the K-M #GlobalBiodiversityFramework. As a result, corporates and investors are increasingly required to report and act on their nature-related impacts, risks, and opportunities. But the scale and rate of change required is unprecedented, and the complexity of the science involved in responding to this rapidly evolving field highlights large skill + knowledge gaps within businesses. Over the past three years, we have been working with a range of industry leaders, NGOs, industry bodies to design a scientifically robust analytical framework that guides you through an in-depth multidimensional analysis of nature-related impacts, climate risks, nature risks, and opportunities for protection and restoration of nature in specific landscapes. See you there :)
