Last week we joined forces with Natalie Benamou, MBA and HER HEALTHX to talk about women’s heart health. Cardiovascular disease is the No. 1 killer of women, causing 1 in 3 deaths each year. We need more conversation — not everyone knows that or what it means for them. This episode combines patient stories and medical expertise. Here are some takeaways: Medical gaslighting can happen. This happens when you aren’t heard or your concerns/symptoms are dismissed. Saraa Basaria encouraged everyone to, “trust your instincts and push for thorough examinations." We also need to take control of our own heath. Patty Jassak, MS, RN, CHCP, FACEhp shared how her brother’s heart condition led to her finding out more about her own heart health. “My brother's experience was a wake-up call for me. It made me realize how crucial it is to be vigilant about our heart health." We can (and should) make changes to how we deliver cardiac care. Simin Gharib Lee shared how Systole Health offers women group visits combined with nutrition and 1:1 breakouts with physicians. She said, “these visits allow for a more interactive and comprehensive approach to care, where patients can ask questions, receive immediate feedback, and gain a deeper understanding of their health conditions.” If you missed it, you can watch the replay here: https://lnkd.in/ems2RGNP #womenshealth
