Good day everyone, and welcome to another week of opportunities and growth. As we begin this new week, let’s take a moment to reflect on our past successes and challenges. We have come a long way, but we still have a long way to go. “Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations.” - Zig Ziglar. Although it may be challenging to adapt to life with prosthetic or orthotic devices, it’s worth it in the end to be able to live a full and active life. And sometimes, the challenges we face in life can lead us to beautiful and unexpected destinations. Let’s use this week as an opportunity to push ourselves to new heights, to challenge ourselves to be better than we were yesterday, and to work together to achieve our goals. #MondayMotivationwithMedivice. #MMM.

Today marks the conclusion of my term as the President of the James Madison Chapter of the Acacia Fraternity. Within my time in this role, I have acquired a myriad of connections and have developed many long-lasting relationships. I have also been grateful to have learned many skills that I will be able to transition to the workforce, following my graduation. These skills include, but are not limited to: 🔑 Decision-Making: Making informed and strategic decisions for the betterment of the organization. 🔑 Adaptability/Flexibility: Navigating changes and adapting to evolving circumstances effectively. 🔑 Strategic Planning: Developing long-term goals, creating action plans, and executing strategies for achieving objectives. 🔑 Conflict Resolution: Mediating disagreements and finding constructive solutions. 🔑 Event Planning/Organization: Orchestrating successful events, managing logistics, and coordinating with various stakeholders. 🔑 Public Speaking: Delivering presentations, addressing groups, and representing the fraternity. 🔑 Networking: Building connections, fostering relationships, and cultivating a strong professional network. 🔑 Advocacy/Community Engagement: Representing the fraternity's values and contributing to the broader community through service initiatives. As I step away from this role, I am eager and confident to apply this knowledge in the next chapter of my life, ready to embrace new challenges and opportunities with enthusiasm, determination, and a profound appreciation for the lessons learned.

Yesterday marked the one-year anniversary of my graduation day. And I thought the best way to celebrate that was to give away the most important teachings I got from medical school and my working environment, and how they helped shape my personality and the way I now see things. What were some of your happiest memories in university (not necessarily med-school)? What things did you learn the hard way(so others don't have to)? Here's the link to the full article: https://wp.me/pevyMY-5s I'll be glad to hear your feedback and your suggestions for future posts

Careers Consultant @DCU helping students achieve agency in growing their own careers | Director @IFDA
Great to have Holly Johnston from Jameson on campus today. She was busy with DCU e-soc for Refreshers Week this morning and then discussing building your personal and professional brand in person and online. Great insights from a marketing professional! Remember they are looking for Japanese, French, and Spanish speakers! DCU SALIS DCU Business School My favourite takeaways: 1. Like Barbie, you have strengths and skills that you may find ordinary, but are in fact extraordinary. 2. Your personal brand extends across all of your interactions, whether in person, online, or through and application. 3. Brands target specific audiences for their products. Your role is not to appeal to everyone, but to be true to yourself (the product) so that you can best match with employers who value the same things.

Executive Office of the President, OMB | DEIA Program Detailee | Empowering DEIA in Public Service | Enhancing Government Operations & Human Capital Strategy | Triple Masters | Data Driven & Community Focused| Designer
First Gens Rise Up 👐 From immigrants to migrants to everyone in-between, could not be more proud to be in this "nomadic" community I call home. Speaking from experience, sense of identity, purpose and even just Career is often a struggle when you are first generation. Pressure is put on you by yourself but also your family. There are times that you feel as if you need to excel because of what sacrifices your family made for you to have opportunity for education, career ect. No one talks about the guilt that comes with being first generation or a immigrant, only the "benifits" you magically have / do not really have. One thing we all have is Resilience. Programs like TRIO exist for a reason and they are beyond essential. Luther College had an amazing program led by Chivonne Blankenship Marlow & Gwen. Passionate people inspire those who need it most. 💡A reason I work for the government and continue to do so is to inspire others but also provide representation where it has not been before. Create and enable systems, policies and programs that are equitable, inclusive and equal. This starts with education. Education is the foundation that often lays your future as an adult. 🌟 What an inspiring story from U.S. Department of State ! Government is an awesome career and often hard to explain especially when you are first generation. Still to this day, my family has no idea what my job entails, but hey they could not be more proud! The federal government is an amazing opportunity for those seeking public service and lifelong careers. Agencies across the board need more first generation & emerging leaders reflecting the worldly majority. 👍Cheers to the resilience and mighty, forging a uncharted path in higher education and Service! #federalgovernment #service #firstgen #riseup #diversitymatters #DiverseVoices

I feel very valued by my coworkers in multiple locations/areas. I’m constantly learning new tricks in my role as an authorization specialist. I enjoy being able to make a difference in our clients' care even if it is not direct patient care. 🙌 2. What hashtags describe your personality best? #Caring, #Conscientious, #Helping 🙌 3. What is something people don't know about you? I’ve run 2 half marathons and will never do it again. 😊 🙌 4. It was so great to meet Vasili Evangelou and all of the students on Wednesday🎓 We spoke about so much and if there’s one thing I don’t do, it’s gatekeep! ❌ So here’s some of the key takeaways… 📈Use the algorithm reports and subsequent marketing advice to optimise your content and posting processes based on EXACTLY what the platform tells you to do 🗣️Don’t be afraid to get the attention of a potential employer, and don’t be a stranger to a voice note, it comes across much more personal as it can’t be copy/pasted 📲Do not just set up a LinkedIn profile and leave it, you need to post regularly to feed the algorithm and gain the attention you seek - always have your content radar on to support this 👏🏻Make the most of every opportunity, even if it seems like a small one, you never know who’s witnessing your work or which next opportunity could be around the corner #fridaymotivation #studentadvice #alumni #employability
