March is National Ladder Safety Month. National Ladder Safety Month, spearheaded by the American Ladder Institute (ALI), is the only program dedicated exclusively to promoting ladder safety, at home and work. Each year, tens of thousands of injuries and hundreds of deaths are caused by ladder misuse. By providing critical guidelines and raising awareness on safe use, we can help decrease these numbers. Below you will find links to facilitate discussion on ensuring awareness is being raised and that each teammate understands the risk around ladder safety. Please find attached documents to help share both ladder safety at work, and at home. https://lnkd.in/etiKwQYC https://lnkd.in/eMN_Edvd https://lnkd.in/egntu9_r.

Happy National Safety Month! At Orwak, workplace safety is paramount. Whether at our main facility in Morrisville, NC, or at our various client warehouses and sites, it’s important to maintain and promote a safe and healthy environment for everyone involved. When operating any type of machinery, either balers or compactors, you must take all necessary safety precautions, which includes: • Wearing proper protective equipment (hard hats, gloves, goggles, earmuffs) • Reading all warning labels before using machinery • Loading materials correctly (i.e., not exceeding maximum weight and size) • Regularly scheduled maintenance • Being aware of malfunctions, leaks, etc. (and taking your machine out of service until repaired) https://lnkd.in/e4VBVFN #nationalsafetymonth #workplacesafety #warehousesafety #balersafety #compactorsafety

We launch our Q2 Theme ‘Preventing Personal Injuries’ with a reminder that we are a member-led organisation working together to prevent harm to our frontline workers. To do this, it is important that we understand hazards at site, the harm they can cause us, and how we can control them to prevent injuries to ourselves and colleagues. In our Q2 Theme ‘Preventing Personal Injuries’ portal, we have collated resources to help our Member Companies to: - Enhance awareness of personal hazards and the potential for personal injuries, and - Understand how your decisions affect the risk of personal injuries. Step Change in Safety Always Safe https://lnkd.in/gp6bwQ_k

March is National Ladder Safety Month! This year’s theme is “Safe at home. Safe at work.” 3 workers are killed every week and 50 workers a day are injured due to ladder related incidents! The most common causes are incorrect extension ladder angle, inappropriate ladder selection, insufficient ladder inspection, improper ladder use, and lack of access to ladder safety tools and information. Increase the number of ladder inspections and train your workers how to properly use, inspect, and store ladders. We encourage companies to perform a safety stand down this month. You can read more about ladder safety month here: https://lnkd.in/eiA9ME_W.
