In a recent discussion with Allen Stauffacher, STS, President and CEO of Twin Cities Gateway, Matt Trinnear, VP of Strategic Partnerships at EventConnect, explored the USA Cup's profound impact on the local community. Here’s what they shared: Al Stauffacher: “The local support for the USA Cup is phenomenal. From volunteers to local businesses, everyone gets involved. This year, we saw over $3 million in hotel impact alone, with the total economic boost estimated at $50 million. September and October are a great time of the year as Sports Industry Conference Season is on its high, creating great opportunities for discussion, networking and uplifting within the industry peers. For many years I have proudly been a member of World Football Summit Advisory Board and an active participant in many of their events, physical and remote. I am a big fan of the incredible job Marian Otamendi , Jan Alessie and all their team have been doing over the years to make World Football Summit a global top 3 event and an incredible reference for anyone in the industry. Not just they manage to bring multiple times a year an incredible team of speakers and panelists, as they also have the drive and stamina to propose for discussion and contribute for solutions in some of the hottest and more relevant thematics for the present and future of our industry. Last but definitely not least, they have been providing the foundation for an incredible number of relationships building over the years, uplifting the ties between many of the members of our industry and bonding those relationships for life. This time I will be talking about Football & A.I... a New data-enhanced era for football investment sharing the stage with Stef Strack, Zubair Timol, Yacine Sossé Alaoui and my dearest friend Michael Broughton to share our respective thoughts and insights. A.I has been playing a massive role behind our industry for many years from broadcasting to fan experience, from datatainment to athlete performance and development, from storytelling to refereeing but only very recently became the center of a large public debate across many sectors, including of course sports. I am sure 40 minutes will run very quickly but I am sure it will provide a interesting experience and food for thought for all attendees It is great to be back and see all of you in Seville this week. It will be 🔥🔥🔥 #sportsbusiness #sportsindustry #sportsinnovation

🗓️ "The Best Tournaments for Youth Clubs: How to Find Them?" Choosing the perfect tournament for your club isn’t always easy. It’s essential to evaluate events that best match your team, both in competitive level and overall experience. Here are 5 tips to help you identify the top tournaments: 1️⃣ Reputation and History Look for events with years of experience and a solid reputation. Check which teams have participated in the past and what they’ve said about it. 2️⃣ Competitive Level Ensure the tournament offers a level that suits your team. Participating in an event that's too challenging—or too simple—can impact the players’ experience. 3️⃣ Location and Facilities Consider tournaments with quality pitches, nearby accommodations, and easy access for teams and families. 4️⃣ Visibility and Opportunities If your goal is to showcase players to scouts or professional clubs, choose tournaments with observer presence or media coverage. 5️⃣ Extra Activities Some tournaments go beyond football and include cultural or social activities to enrich the experience for players and families. 🌐 Leverage Internet and Social Media Today, finding information about tournaments is easier than ever thanks to online resources. Many events have profiles on Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook, sharing details like dates, locations, and participant experiences. 💡 Join forums and online communities to connect with other clubs and get direct recommendations! 👉 What’s the most memorable tournament your team has participated in? Share it in the comments and help others discover new events! #YouthFootball ⚽ #FootballTournaments #GrassrootsFootball #YouthSports #PlayerDevelopment #FootballExperience #TalentScouting #ClubManagement #TeamGrowth #FootballCommunity

We need your opinion or real world experience on "Return on Investment" from hosting sports events. Every day we experience the perception of a disconnect between International Sports Federations with their list of "asks" plus Rights Fees, and Cities who feel these requirements do not give them the returns they need. Is #ROI even the right term to evaluate the benefits from hosting? Some say it is #Legacy not ROI that matters but what does this mean? So, what "value" should be applied to the wider benefits of sports participation, inclusion, growth of grass-roots youth sport involvement, the chance to reassess sustainability best practice, changes to transportation and........................ you will have your own list but the money aspects would appear to be an enduring theme to address also. In Lausanne at our annual June Hosts and Federations Summit in the Olympic Museum you will hear the views of International Federations and Cities and you can contribute to the debate. The Summit seeks to conclude with a better mutual understanding with expert companies also challenging routine event delivery being unnecessarily costly and missing benefits from early engagement. If you have a view, come and join us during the week of 17 June and be seen and heard! https://lnkd.in/gCBzWqg8 #HFS2024 #FHS2024 #sportbusiness #majorevents #Lausanne2024

Different perspectives on deciding the total number of teams for a youth football tournament: 🤝 Inclusive Approach: Embracing a larger number of teams fosters inclusivity and diversity. It allows for greater cultural exchange as teams from different regions, backgrounds, and even countries participate. This enriches the experience for everyone involved, exposing players to various football styles and tactics. Moreover, a larger tournament can attract more talented players, creating a more competitive atmosphere and providing scouts with a broader pool of talent to observe. 🎮 Logistical Challenges: Hosting a tournament with a significant number of teams presents logistical challenges. Organizers must manage transportation, accommodation, and field allocation efficiently. This requires a robust infrastructure and coordination among various stakeholders. Additionally, a larger tournament necessitates more staff and volunteers, increasing the workload and demand for resources. 📈 Benefits of Scale: Despite the logistical complexities, there are undeniable benefits to hosting a larger tournament. It offers participants the opportunity to be part of something grand and memorable. The sense of camaraderie and excitement that comes with a massive event can be unparalleled. Players and spectators alike feel a sense of pride in being part of such an expansive gathering. 🚨 Risk Management: However, expanding the tournament also entails risks. With more teams comes a higher likelihood of issues arising, such as scheduling conflicts, disputes, or misconduct. Organizers must be vigilant in their planning and preparation to mitigate these potential challenges. Lack of adequate preparation can lead to chaos and tarnish the reputation of the tournament. 🎖 Exclusivity vs. Accessibility: Some tournaments prioritize exclusivity, maintaining a limited number of teams to enhance the prestige of the event. This approach appeals to certain organizers and participants who value the elite nature of the competition. However, it also runs the risk of excluding deserving teams and stifling opportunities for growth and development within the sport. ⚖ Balancing Act: Ultimately, the decision on the total number of teams requires a delicate balance between inclusivity and practicality. Organizers must weigh the benefits of a larger tournament against the logistical challenges and risks involved. By carefully considering all factors and planning effectively, they can create an event that maximizes participation, fosters excellence, and ensures a positive experience for all involved. By addressing these various perspectives, organizers can make informed decisions that align with the goals and values of their youth football tournament. #sportmanagement #youthfootball
