Founder - Power Of Women | Producer + Host - Power Of Women podcast | Managing Director - Agora Partners, Retail & Consumer Executive Search
As with this week’s episode of the Power Of Women podcast, next week is another opportunity to tap into the fabulous, rich talent-pool of the Australian diaspora. Next week I am speaking with Shirley Wardle in the UK. Shirley is a seasoned corporate leader with over 20 years international experience spanning telecommunications, media & broadcast and cybersecurity. Our conversation is wide-ranging, covering but by no means limited to: 🗣Women supporting women: Looking back at her earlier career, Shirley found as many of us have, that when opportunities for women were scarce and societal expectations boxed us into limited roles, survival behaviour rather than nurturing mentorship became the norm. Fortunately, fast forward to today, and we find ourselves in a very different conversation. 🗣The impact of burnout: Up until COVID, Shirley’s career was flying, the economy was flying, people were traveling, everybody was happy. Then COVID hit. Her international role became concentrated from one time zone due to lockdown; however, she was still servicing a global market. From a base in Singapore, her daily interactions began in Australia, through Asia, right through the Middle East, into the UK and she was going to bed with America. Exhausting, and it took its toll. 🗣Prioritising physical and mental wellbeing: For Shirley, the conversation has shifted toward advocating for lifestyle and prioritising fitness & wellness. To that end, and in keeping with her commitment to continual personal development, she has embarked upon an entrepreneurial pursuit, becoming a franchise owner of an international boutique brand. Shirley launched a reformer Pilates studio in Kent, England, where she now supports her clients in their goals around health and wellbeing. And yes, we get into the ‘pauses’ too. Sorry guys, but there is something for everyone to learn here. The more frequent the conversation, the greater the understanding, the better off we all are. Mark this upcoming in your diaries. The conversation will resonate, inspire and motivate. The episode goes Live on Monday. #ListenToPowerOfWomenPodcast #WomenSupportingWomen #PowerOfWomenpodcast #Burnout #Wellbeing
