My Journey from Medicine to Mastering Real Estate Investing 🏠✨ As a surgeon, my days are often filled with precise decisions and dedicated patient care. However, the early days of COVID-19 presented a unique downtime, prompting me to explore new territories—financial freedom, passive income, and the robust world of real estate investing. 📚 My real estate journey began with learning about large apartment syndications and short-term rental (STR) arbitrage. Eager to dive in, I invested in a large multifamily deal in Florida and embarked on a luxury STR arbitrage in San Diego. Both ventures not only provided valuable insights but also fueled my passion for further exploration in this field. 🛠️ The purchase of a triplex in San Diego was my next step. This property, blending long-term and STR units, required significant renovations due to its age. The challenge of transforming a dated structure into a profitable investment was immense, but in the end successful—a testament to the skills of analysis, planning and cooperation I've honed in the operating room, now applied to real estate. 🔄 Expanding my portfolio, I acquired another triplex, experimenting with mid-term rental strategies (MTRs) alongside STRs. My continuous learning led me back to large multifamily properties and sparked an interest in hotel investing, aligning with my goal of scaling my investments. 🌟 Last year, I joined Mike Ealy’s mastermind, a resource that has been pivotal in deepening my understanding of deal analysis and capital raising. It's designed for, and also aligned with my desire to, empower individuals who believe they lack the knowledge or time to invest in real estate. 💡 Reflecting on my journey, I realize that the principles of surgery—precision, planning, and execution—are equally applicable to real estate investing.
