The Mt. Joy Orchard in Portland is so cool. Bravo. This initiative to boost fuels treatment in the Applegate Valley could be crucial to enhance community resilience. With the mix of local, state, federal agencies, community groups as well as private, industrial, and federal landowners, coordinating these efforts in a place-based manner is difficult. This or a similar approach is needed to address the complex challenges that arise from cross-boundary and multi-agency involvement in fuels reduction in fire prone regions.
