A recent preprint highlights the power of expansion #Microscopy #ExM for decrowding of bacterial biofilms. The authors approach uses ExM to increase the space between individual bacteria cells without expanding individual cells, which also allowed them to assess the relative strength of adhesion between cells. Islanderis a three-layer perceptron, directly trained on cell type annotations with mixup augmentations. scGraph compares each affinity graph to a consensus graph, derived by aggregating individual graphs from different batches, based on raw reads or PCA loadings. Evaluation by scGraph revealed varied performance across embeddings.
