One demo showed beam-expanding free-form lens arrays micro-molded from EXTEM RH resin that were packaged on the PIC and the fiber array, resulting in very high coupling efficiency. ⭐ This was the first thermoplastic resin setup in a single-mode CPO device. Visitors took notice. Attendees also loved that EXTEM RH resin can withstand reflow soldering, so the packaging of optics and all other board components can be done in one step. 🔎 Here's a preview of the most recent addition to Ponticon's 3DMD manufacturing system fleet. What's still a rendering below will become a manufacturing reality by the end of May.   🔧 We are in the last steps of assembling yet another high-speed DED system for Universität Siegen's Chair for International Production Engineering and Management IPEM.   🏭 IPEM, in close collaboration with industrial end-users, will integrate our manufacturing system in their ever-growing ecosystem of SDFS Smarte Demonstrationsfabrik Siegen GmbH.   The first projects will be carried out in the area of coating highly stressed parts used in rolling and foil-slitting equipment.   Stay tuned to understand how Ponticon's advanced DED equipment makes a difference when selectively coating large cylindrical parts. #DED #IndustrialDED #AdditiveManufacturing #Innovation #Technology

DIMOFAC project is concluded ❗   🙌 After 4 years of intensive work, last week, DIMOFAC celebrated its final event at 📍 Fill facilities in Gurten, Austria, to share all the results of this #EuropeanComission initiative. 🌍   Over this period, all the partners of the DIMOFAC consortium, including #aimenct 🙌, worked to create, test, validate and disseminate a homemade #industrial solution to make factories more responsive to a multiform demand and to be more productive. 📈   ➡ AIMEN's role in this #H2020 project was to work on multi-material metal-thermoplastic #manufacturing pilot line, involving #laser texturing and metal/thermoplastic joining, and to provide hardware and software interfaces for #PnP capabilities, online process control and inline quality assurance.     In this final DIMOFAC event we showed a plug and produce robot cell based on asset administration shell.   #aimenreseach #EUresearch #ModularProduction #ReconfigurableProductionLines #DigitalTwin
