#CMAC is excited to share our latest published research, which addresses a critical challenge in pharmaceutical manufacturing: the resource-intensive process of developing crystallisation methods for commercial production. Our study introduces an extension and application of a model-driven workflow that reduces the material and resource demands traditionally required for crystallisation process development. By systematically collecting and evaluating thermodynamic and kinetic data, we've demonstrated that it’s possible to effectively translate small-scale experimental results to larger scales. Key highlights: 🔷 Achieved process development in just 8 weeks. 🔷 Expanded the workflow to a 50x scale-up, integrating cooling, antisolvent, and seeded modes of crystallisation. 🔷 Optimised the recrystallisation for an industry-relevant API, achieving precise control over product quality. 🔷 Significantly reduced material usage while meeting target specifications for oral bioavailability and uniformity. This approach not only enhances efficiency but also opens new possibilities for sustainable pharmaceutical manufacturing.
