Some highlights!! ✨ The fourth annual Commercializing Flow Chemistry Summit partnered with Stephen Born, Co-Founder and Scientific Director to share insights into how CONTINUUS Pharmaceuticals are directly developing solutions to combat prevalent issues in flow chemistry manufacturing ✨ Published a case study paper on their innovative ICM Pilot Plant which uses a process to take molecules from raw material dissolution, through reactive crystallization, to drug product formulation ✨ Designed a process that reduces waste generation by 30%, and will save approx. $1.5m per 1000 tons of API manufactured ✨ Reduced CO2 emissions through new processes by 120 tons per 1000 tons of product Amazing to see new businesses making a difference in new tech as well developing ways to make pharma manufacturing better for the environment!! #continuuspharma #continuousmanufacturing #cdmo #cmo #pharma #pharmaceuticals #letspivot

#CMAC is excited to share our latest published research, which addresses a critical challenge in pharmaceutical manufacturing: the resource-intensive process of developing crystallisation methods for commercial production. Our study introduces an extension and application of a model-driven workflow that reduces the material and resource demands traditionally required for crystallisation process development. By systematically collecting and evaluating thermodynamic and kinetic data, we've demonstrated that it’s possible to effectively translate small-scale experimental results to larger scales. Key highlights: 🔷 Achieved process development in just 8 weeks. 🔷 Expanded the workflow to a 50x scale-up, integrating cooling, antisolvent, and seeded modes of crystallisation. 🔷 Optimised the recrystallisation for an industry-relevant API, achieving precise control over product quality. 🔷 Significantly reduced material usage while meeting target specifications for oral bioavailability and uniformity. This approach not only enhances efficiency but also opens new possibilities for sustainable pharmaceutical manufacturing.
