It's officially "back to school" season! 📚✏️ The Dana Carmel Group is kicking off the new school year by donating $20,000 to the Menlo Park City School District and Menlo Atherton High School to support my children’s schools and our local community. I am a long-time, active Foundation member, and I know how much our school districts rely on Foundation support to provide quality education. Funds raised provide additional teachers, specialists, programs, and tools that make our schools extraordinary places for learning. That’s why we will donate $1,500 to your local school Foundation when you buy or sell a home with The Dana Carmel Group. This benefits both home values and school districts. A report by the National Bureau of Economic Research titled, “Using Market Valuation to Assess Public School Spending,” found that for every dollar spent on public schools in a community, home values increased by about $20. This increase directly translates to higher resale values. Send us a message to learn more! 📲 Dana Carmel Group | DRE 02076519

The way to lead with actions not just words.
Austin Bank's allegiance to the communities it serves continues to manifest itself through contributions in direct support of local education, the arts, literacy, health and housing needs as well as countless hours of volunteer service given by Austin Bank employees. B.E. Blessed is a non-profit organization in the Conroe area with the mission of providing school supplies, hygiene kits, and other essentials to low-income students throughout their community. Baily (pictured center) was 6 years old when she realized that not all of her classmates had their own crayons. This inspired her to create B.E. Blessed to provide underprivileged students with the supplies they need to succeed. Since the organization made it's first donation in 2006, they've raised over $230,000 and provided school supplies to over 2,900 students. We are proud to support Baily and B.E. Blessed in their mission to improve the educational outcomes of students throughout the Conroe community and beyond. #WithYouForGood #BEBlessed #ConroeTX

As back to school season is in full effect, many parents are busy preparing themselves and their children for the new school year. Educators are also busy preparing for the upcoming school year and some school districts will be fortunate enough to receive financial resources that help them equip its classrooms for new & returning students while others may struggle to make do with outdated resources for their classrooms. It comes as no surprise that Oklahoma ranks poorly amongst other states in the country in education ranking 44th overall in 2024. The Every Student Succeeds Act was signed in 2015 to address advancing equity to disadvantaged & high-need students, however, many school districts continue to miss out on opportunities to better serve its students due to political sentiments that fail to prioritize the next generation of leaders and thinkers. This year I decided to join some of my friends at Generation Why to help gather & distribute school supplies to some of the Oklahoma City Public Schools who were not as fortunate to receive state or federal funding to help provide its students the necessary resources they need for the upcoming school year. Last year #GNWY managed to raise over $12k to help students at F.D. Moon Middle School for the 2023-2024 school year. This year their goal is to raise $10k for more #OKCPS schools and also host another #FillTheBus drive to accept any donations from local businesses & organizations to help steer this mission. If you or your organization is interested in participating, feel free to reach out to my dear friend Jordan at #GNWY to help them acheive their goal for the upcoming school year. Any donations can be distributed to #GNWY before or on August 4th at their #FillTheBus event or online via their website. See details below. Date/Time: 8/4/24 05:00p Location: 100 N McCormick Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73127 Fill The Bus Donations: https://lnkd.in/gJuikpUd Visit GNWY: https://lnkd.in/gsXz5p2c

Support Students 🤝 Donate School Supplies On Aug. 19, nearly 25,000 Springfield Public Schools students will come to school eager to learn. However, not all of them will have the supplies they need due to lack of resources. To help support students and their families, SPS is launching Ready. Set. Supply!, its annual campaign to collect school supply donations so all SPS students can start the school year off right. "A new school year is an exciting time for students but it can also be costly for families, especially those with multiple school-aged children," explained Jessica Blake, coordinator of community relations. "We want to help fill those gaps and make sure every student has the necessary supplies to be success ready." Community members and organizations can help by donating school supplies or making financial contributions. Visit sps.org/readysetsupply for list of needed supplies and a link to donate. 🔗sps.org/readysetsupply

The Smithson Public School in Kitchener has had the same playground structure for over 25 years! It is a cornerstone of our community and unfortunately, it is facing imminent closure. This closure will not only deprive the children at Smithson School of a safe and engaging play space but also affect the families in our Rosemount community who rely on the school yard and play structure as one of the few accessible playgrounds. Currently, the playground is being repaired by parents/community members who take it upon themselves to “sneak in” and do small repairs to keep the structure functioning and safe for our children. However, as stated above the current play structure is approaching a state of disrepair, and its closure is inevitable. Our goal is to raise money to replace the playground structure this year. We have been doing our best this past year and have raised a fraction of the needed cost. As you may know these structures are not cheap. We need your help! Every donation, big or small, will make significant impact for us to reach our goal and help the dream of a new playground come true for our Smithson Students! Your consideration means a lot to us. Donation Instructions: You can contribute through the Waterloo Education Foundation Inc (WEFI). https://lnkd.in/gtV9A9np following this step: 1. Please ensure you select Smithson PS 0111 from the drop down under “Apply your donation to a fund set up by this charity”. 2. Please put a comment that your donation is for the playground. Please know that 100% of your donation goes towards the playground. Donations exceeding $5,000 will be acknowledged with a prominent engraving on a commemorative plaque.

It's genuinely awe-inspiring to witness the monumental impact that philanthropic gestures can have, particularly in the realm of education. 🌟 The generosity demonstrated by Ronda Stryker and William Johnston in supporting Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) is nothing short of remarkable. Their actions not only spotlight the critical importance and the immense power of support for HBCUs, but they also set a sterling example for all of us. Let's consider this incredible act of kindness not just as an isolated gesture, but as a clarion call for action. It’s an invitation for each of us to look within and find ways we too can contribute. Whether it’s through volunteering, donating, or simply spreading the word, we all have something valuable to offer. 💪📚 Let us draw inspiration from Ronda Stryker and William Johnston's exemplary commitment to bettering the world through education. Let their generosity remind us of the ripple effect our collective actions can create. Together, let’s make a difference in supporting the growth and success of HBCUs. It’s about building a brighter future by understanding the value and impact of our contributions, no matter the size.
I am delighted that #philanthropists Ronda Stryker and her husband, William Johnston, have made a historic donation of $100 million to #HBCU Spelman College. Made in January of this year, his remarkable contribution includes $75 million to endow scholarships and $25 million to improve student housing, develop an academic focus on public policy and more. This contribution marks the largest single donation in the college's history. Donations like these are crucial for HBCUs, which have long been underfunded compared to other educational institutions. The impact of this gift extends far beyond the pure dollar amount – it sends a powerful message of support and recognition for the invaluable role that HBCUs play in shaping the leaders of tomorrow. I applaud Ronda Stryker and William Johnston for their generosity and vision. Their donation is a testament to the positive impact that individuals can have on #education and the broader community. Let’s continue to support and uplift HBCUs, ensuring that they have the resources they need to thrive and empower future generations. Read more. https://bit.ly/3PIDR9g

Coordinator to Value360 & Audit Teams; Co-Chair of CohnReznick CARES Committee; North Carolina Notary Public
Hello Colleagues, Connections, and Friends! The CohnReznick LLP Charlotte office CARES initiative for July has been collecting donations for Classroom Central. Through their partnerships, each $1 donated becomes $9 worth of distributed supplies for students in our community. These donations give students the supplies they need for a successful school year. Every dollar donated (via the link below) through the end of the day today will go to purchasing kits that will be given to local students in need. We will assemble these kits ourselves, and deliver them to Classroom Central next month. Please consider making a small (or large) donation to our local students and teachers! Consider this insight from a 3rd-grade teacher in Charlotte: "There are always unseen challenges for students. As teachers, we strive to understand and address the struggles they face outside the classroom. When kids live in poverty and high-stress environments, focusing on learning to read or understand fractions becomes incrementally more difficult, not to mention the stress of worrying if they can get the necessary books and supplies they need to complete their homework and lessons. With the help of Classroom Central, I can alleviate at least one of their stressors, making it easier for them to feel capable and successful while they're at school." Thank you for any and all donations!! <3 https://lnkd.in/gQezNchQ
