Support Students 🤝 Donate School Supplies On Aug. 19, nearly 25,000 Springfield Public Schools students will come to school eager to learn. However, not all of them will have the supplies they need due to lack of resources. To help support students and their families, SPS is launching Ready. Set. Supply!, its annual campaign to collect school supply donations so all SPS students can start the school year off right. "A new school year is an exciting time for students but it can also be costly for families, especially those with multiple school-aged children," explained Jessica Blake, coordinator of community relations. "We want to help fill those gaps and make sure every student has the necessary supplies to be success ready." Community members and organizations can help by donating school supplies or making financial contributions. Visit sps.org/readysetsupply for list of needed supplies and a link to donate. 🔗sps.org/readysetsupply

As back to school season is in full effect, many parents are busy preparing themselves and their children for the new school year. Educators are also busy preparing for the upcoming school year and some school districts will be fortunate enough to receive financial resources that help them equip its classrooms for new & returning students while others may struggle to make do with outdated resources for their classrooms. It comes as no surprise that Oklahoma ranks poorly amongst other states in the country in education ranking 44th overall in 2024. The Every Student Succeeds Act was signed in 2015 to address advancing equity to disadvantaged & high-need students, however, many school districts continue to miss out on opportunities to better serve its students due to political sentiments that fail to prioritize the next generation of leaders and thinkers. This year I decided to join some of my friends at Generation Why to help gather & distribute school supplies to some of the Oklahoma City Public Schools who were not as fortunate to receive state or federal funding to help provide its students the necessary resources they need for the upcoming school year. Last year #GNWY managed to raise over $12k to help students at F.D. Moon Middle School for the 2023-2024 school year. This year their goal is to raise $10k for more #OKCPS schools and also host another #FillTheBus drive to accept any donations from local businesses & organizations to help steer this mission. If you or your organization is interested in participating, feel free to reach out to my dear friend Jordan at #GNWY to help them acheive their goal for the upcoming school year. Any donations can be distributed to #GNWY before or on August 4th at their #FillTheBus event or online via their website. See details below. Date/Time: 8/4/24 05:00p Location: 100 N McCormick Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73127 Fill The Bus Donations: https://lnkd.in/gJuikpUd Visit GNWY: https://lnkd.in/gsXz5p2c

Coordinator to Value360 & Audit Teams; Co-Chair of CohnReznick CARES Committee; North Carolina Notary Public
Hello Colleagues, Connections, and Friends! The CohnReznick LLP Charlotte office CARES initiative for July has been collecting donations for Classroom Central. Through their partnerships, each $1 donated becomes $9 worth of distributed supplies for students in our community. These donations give students the supplies they need for a successful school year. Every dollar donated (via the link below) through the end of the day today will go to purchasing kits that will be given to local students in need. We will assemble these kits ourselves, and deliver them to Classroom Central next month. Please consider making a small (or large) donation to our local students and teachers! Consider this insight from a 3rd-grade teacher in Charlotte: "There are always unseen challenges for students. As teachers, we strive to understand and address the struggles they face outside the classroom. When kids live in poverty and high-stress environments, focusing on learning to read or understand fractions becomes incrementally more difficult, not to mention the stress of worrying if they can get the necessary books and supplies they need to complete their homework and lessons. With the help of Classroom Central, I can alleviate at least one of their stressors, making it easier for them to feel capable and successful while they're at school." Thank you for any and all donations!! <3 https://lnkd.in/gQezNchQ

Tomorrow is #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that inspires and celebrates generosity. We ask you to Give Back with Impact to thousands of Forest Hills students. Double your IMPACT with an anonymous donor's matching gift of up to $25,000! If you’ve been on the fence, here are three reasons to donate today that would not be possible without the support of donors like you: #1 - Giving students access at school to meet with a Child Focus Therapist. FHFE funds one additional therapist each year. On average, 260 students are able to see a therapist at school. 100% of school staff would recommend school-based services. #2 - Supporting over 600 Nagel students “find their way and get connected” through After-School Clubs, tutoring, and bus transportation home. #3 - Access to more books at all 6 elementary schools. We are so thankful to our donors, and any amount matters. Each dollar raised goes to a good cause and a stronger district. Ready to donate? https://lnkd.in/e5SKQZSy

Please give a little and help me and my colleagues at Sage make a real difference to the kids at Tullygally Primary School! 🙏🏻 If you can, please donate. Every £ will get us a step closer to having a huge impact on their future. Giving them computer skills at an early age is like giving them a passport to the world! Over 92% of jobs need digital skills and computer literacy. The ability to understand and use technology is no longer an optional skill. It is already a fundamental necessity. For the younger generation, computers and digital technology are their natural environment. Computer literacy extends far beyond being able to surf the internet or play video games. It includes understanding the operation of a computer and even early programming skills. This breadth of knowledge opens possibilities for creativity, collaboration, and exploration. It’s like equipping children with a passport to the world. This is where educational computers for kids serve as a versatile tool. It helps shape their learning experiences. Help us make a difference! I'm excited to share that Joanne Gilson, Lydia Hall and I, through Sage Foundation, are honoured to join Tullygally Primary School to support an initiative to enhance pupil education and foster community connections. Every donation will pave the way to brighter futures for these children. Join us in supporting our fundraiser to rebuild their Computer Suite putting essential tech back in the hands of their children, crucial for children's ICT skills development. The event is a family-sponsored walk, fun run, and a community Spring Concert on March 28th starring the talented pupils, bringing together home, school, and the community. The way to lead with actions not just words.
Austin Bank's allegiance to the communities it serves continues to manifest itself through contributions in direct support of local education, the arts, literacy, health and housing needs as well as countless hours of volunteer service given by Austin Bank employees. B.E. Blessed is a non-profit organization in the Conroe area with the mission of providing school supplies, hygiene kits, and other essentials to low-income students throughout their community. Baily (pictured center) was 6 years old when she realized that not all of her classmates had their own crayons. This inspired her to create B.E. Blessed to provide underprivileged students with the supplies they need to succeed. Since the organization made it's first donation in 2006, they've raised over $230,000 and provided school supplies to over 2,900 students. We are proud to support Baily and B.E. Blessed in their mission to improve the educational outcomes of students throughout the Conroe community and beyond. #WithYouForGood #BEBlessed #ConroeTX

As you may already know, I serve on the Board of Everybody Wins DC, a non-profit I care deeply about that offers free reading programs to children across the DC region, and we need your help. Research conducted by education officials has confirmed what we at EWDC already knew – the pandemic has had a disastrous impact on literacy and behavioral achievement for elementary schools, with Black and Hispanic students seeing larger declines than their peers. If children can’t read, or haven’t developed critical social-emotional skills, they are less likely to succeed at school or in life. That’s why EWDC is doing more than ever to help children build these essential foundational skills. Last year, our one-on-one mentoring, read-aloud activities, and book distributions reached more than 6,000 children across the DC region. This year, our goal is to do even more. It’s what our kids need and deserve. That’s why I am asking for your support. Since our launch in 1995, EWDC programs have been 100% free for families, schools, and community partners. We can do this for our students because of what people like you do for EWDC. Every dollar makes a difference. Please make a gift today so we can give our students a better tomorrow. Click here to contribute to this worthy cause: https://lnkd.in/eAv55Xmd Many thanks, Arielle Elliott
