I've got to be honest that I still have an electric meter with dials on! What about you? Normally I love tech (when its useful), but when it was rolled out, I had misgivings about the implementation of the UK smart meter technology. In principle, yes, you can see that using smart tech to move energy demand to off peak and windy days etc ... is a great idea. It gives you more chance to make it Green Energy and you can see exactly how much of that energy you are using in real time. But... First came installation issues, then a myriad of wireless connection problems. Now, Obsolescence before the tech has even paid itself back! What can be done? Disconnecting 2G/3G will always be a problem, but worse than that is not managing to explain properly the technology itself and what the problem here is. Sure, the meter itself will still work, just the "communication hub" that needs replacement. For consumers, that's everything; for suppliers, it's just a small thing. Yet the demonizing of the technology is impressive. I do believe SmartMeters are a good step in the right direction - yes, they create severe problems for low-income families, but for others, they bring transparency in real time to millions of homes. There's nothing more obscure than receiving a bill every 3 months with the details and not having a dashboard with that information in real time. #GenAI #SmartMeter #Energy #Bill

SmartSolar MPPT RS 450/100 & 450/200 https://lnkd.in/dE4zYDv MPPT: Ultra Fast Maximum Power Point Tracking The SmartSolar RS solar charge controller connects to a PV array of between 65 and 450 Volt Voc and will efficiently charge your 48V battery bank with either 100A or 200A.The charge settings are fully programmable and can be set up for different battery chemistries, like lead-acid, lithium and more. Setup and monitor with VictronConnect The SmartSolar RS charge controller can be remotely controlled and configured over Bluetooth via the VictronConnect app. This allows device set-up, management, and at-a-glance information, such as battery voltage and current, PV voltage and current, historical data and trends. Daisy Chain Additional Units The SmartSolar RS charge controller is equipped with VE.Can bus ports. This allows for communication with additional SmartSolar RS & VE.Can MPPT units. The additional units are simply “daisy chained” to each other with an RJ45 cable. When connected to each other, all individual charge controllers, will synchronise their charge stages. They can also send their data, via the same cable, for monitoring to a GX device (such as the Cerbo GX). SmartSolar Display The SmartSolar RS charge controller is equipped with a display on the front panel. The display reads battery volts, charge current and voltages from both array’s individually including instantaneous and total figures and unit status including any possible error codes. I/O Connections The SmartSolar RS charge controller is equipped with a programmable relay and options for remote temperature and voltage sensing.
