SPACE ONE has secured additional funding from JR WEST INNOVATIONS CO., LTD. and ORIX Corporation during the 2024 fundraising round. SPACE ONE is committed to achieving the ambitious goal of annually launching 20 flights in the 2020s and 30 flights in the 2030s, and is working to enhance Space Port Kii’s launch system to make that goal a reality. To establish a mass production system for rockets, SPACE ONE is strengthening its supply chain while refining its manufacturing systems by leveraging expertise developed in the commercial sector. Do you know the Gruyère Space Program ? 🛰️ 💡A group of Swiss engineering students from EPFL just realized the first flight of a reusable rocket in Europe with few euros, could you believe that ? The team worked hard on their prototypes in a farm down in Gruyere (the same village where the cheese is coming from…) and leverage the school equipments to make their dream inspired by SpaceX. 🚀Few days ago, their #Colibri rocket just reach 100 meters and retuned back ! Colibri’s flight is like balancing a pencil. The Thrust Vector Control (#TVC) tilts the engine, just as you move your hand to keep the pencil upright, while cold gas thrusters stop any spinning.
