Deliberate practice is a specialized form of training that goes beyond regular practice or play. It involves engaging in activities with the goal of improving performance, requiring focused attention and specific objectives. Key components include setting specific goals, receiving immediate feedback, focusing on technique rather than outcome, refining mental representation, and stretching one’s abilities. #DeliberatePractice #SkillImprovement #FocusedTraining

Client Insight: Laziness. Procrastination. FEAR? FEAR can be a good thing. It lets us know that something’s off and needs to be addressed. An Executive Coaching client enrolled in my 90 day Personal / Professional Experience thought she was a procrastinator, lazy…(She owns a small business with 40+ employees- nothing lazy about her 🤣). We deducted- in this circumstance- that it wasn’t laziness, but FEAR. She was riddled with past physical impacts (athlete with major injuries, surgeries, followed by 2 pregnancies) that were never fully “healed / addressed”. In addition to her Personal / Professional Coaching program, we added Physical Coaching- creating a complete BluePrint for success. My Performance Architecture Program helps people build strategies to achieve and maintain peak performance- physically, personally, and professionally. #MoveTowardFreedom #UnlockRepatternRevitalize #Performance #WellBeing #PhysicalPersonalProfessionalPerformance #PersonalGrowth

I recently had a great supervision session where we explored how to create a reflective process for coaches that encourages growth and insight. The focus was on co-creating a set of questions to ask before and after a session, aiming for questions that are generative and motivating. By reflecting on what a helpful process looks like, testing it, and refining it over time, coaches can deepen their practice and better serve their clients. How do you design your reflection process as a coach? https://lnkd.in/eMMhPawH

Why would you need a coach when you got Google and your journal, right?! Or even Chat GPT to snuggle up to Those are all great. Heck, I’ve done all that too. But isn’t it like having a toolbox, packed full of hammers? And yet, you’re wanting to remove a deeply embedded screw. I’m not going to bad-mouth hammers - they are great Exactly like all the how-to info available to you So now you got this screw And it twists in deeper when Your colleague belittles your suggestions in a team meeting Or they annoyingly mumble something under their breath, intentionally audible enough for eyes to shift their way For you to see their body language screaming a rejection of your ideas After years of conditioning as one the of the few women in a male dominated field, you’re used to it But this time, you’re DONE being stepped on and sidelined You whip out your hammer toolbox YIKES it takes awhile to find the right hammer And you still want to garden before it’s too late, so you put the hammer aside …. for a week, then that so-&-so colleague does that thing again! Hammer meet screw It doesn’t work Frustration boiling over cause you can’t even pick the RIGHT hammer - something must be wrong with you! Let me stop you there so I can assure you It’s NOT you It's the hammer ➜ And not knowing you need different tools It’s the garden or dishes or a busy life ➜ And not being accountable for doing the work needed to become more confident It’s being alone with major changes ➜ And not knowing what to do next Instead, I’ll provide you with the right tools, accountability and support. You deserve that. When was the last time your team experimented with new ways of working? A best practice for teams is carried in all questions we asked in our research with Amy Edmondson. We explored how psychological safety connects to the principles in her latest work about failure. One question we asked: “This unit experiments frequently with new ways of working despite risk of failure.” This question carries a best practice for teams: embracing experimentation — even in the face of uncertainty — drives learning and innovation. How does your team approach experimentation? Let us know in the comments! #PsychologicalSafety #Teamwork #Innovation #FearlessOrganizationScan
