Adding to the thoughts about using your paid time off... This benefits both you and your employer. I just 'left the building' for the first real vacation since 2020. (I was in New Orleans in March 2020 for a Transact Conference and some vacation days after that. They were shutting it down around us as we left) Over 4 years of working, with days off here and there, conferences, but no real break. Combined with some life events, the burnout was real. That is not good for any of us, and not good for who we may be working for. Why travel? Besides leaving the building, so to speak? and seeing new places? It is meeting new people, trying new things, using different parts of your mind, freeing up the parts with the long 'to do' list, letting things hit you emotionally. You come back better for it, and that works for you and for whoever may be lucky enough to employ you, or you are lucky enough to employ 😎 . So go if you can. Doesn't have to be far. Talk to people, for a few minutes, for a few hours, do the things you want if you can, add new experiences to your list, learn new things about yourself and others and where and how they live. Have a trip where the only thing you may regret is that you couldn't do something you really wanted to. Hopefully it is because you were too busy having the time of your life!

Before going on a vacation there are couple of things I do. - I think through the most critical work streams. And then get them to state where I pass the baton right before leaving. - If possible, I delegate some work-streams. I appoint a person and brief them about the topic, goals and counterparties. - I focus on clearly communicate the date I'll be returning to the office. And set the "Out-of-Office" replies. This allows me to enjoy the vacation without crippling the critical work-streams. What do you do before leaving the office and what do you write in the "Out-of-Office" note?

What sounds better? Option 1: A job that pays you $100,000k/year and you get to come to work at 9am, leave at 5pm, and you have no stress or problems, you just show up, there's no risk, you get 2 weeks of vacation which isn't a lot, but it's simple. OR Option 2: A job that pays you $100k/year but you work from 6am-10pm, your phone is always on, you get calls in the middle of the night or the weekend, everything depends on you and even though you can take "vacation" whenever you want, by the time the wheels are up you're checking emails. A lot of business owners try to leave Option #1, and then end up at Option #2.

Headed to Minnesota for 3 weeks! 🌲🐺 One of the greatest perks of running my own online business? I didn’t have to ask for permission or get PTO approved. This summer, we’re traveling for at least 5 weeks — all while having the freedom to work from anywhere and making money at the same time. It wasn’t always like this. There was a time when I was stuck in the corporate system, meticulously planning vacations around limited PTO and fearing the backlash of taking too much time off. Now, I’ve built a business that not only provides financial stability but also grants me the flexibility to enjoy life on my terms. Let’s gooo! Imagine being able to: 🌍 Work from anywhere in the world 😇 Spend quality time with your family 🏖️ Enjoy extended vacations without financial stress If you’re completely sick of the 9-5 grind and want to know how to leverage your skills to create a profitable online business, let’s connect. Comment ‘FREEDOM’ or send me a DM, and I’ll share how I made this lifestyle a reality. Here’s to creating a life where work and adventure coexist seamlessly! #WorkFromAnywhere #FinancialFreedom #OnlineBusiness #DigitalNomad #EntrepreneurLife #TimeFreedom #TravelWhileWorking #FamilyFirst

Here is the number of vacation days my employees can take in a year: No, I didn’t forget to write the number. As a manager, I don’t care how many days my employees take off. As long as the KPIs and overall performance are not affected. Everyone must make sure that: Someone can cover for them in case of an emergency. They keep up the good work. That’s it. Our culture is built on trust and ownership. In fact, it is one of the standards that we have as a company. Companies that make people feel guilty for taking breaks are a thing of the past. Employees should be free to decide if they want to take a break as long as their great work continues. The more trust you put into your team, the more your team will progress. If I can do this with a virtual team in another country, I’m sure other managers can do it, too. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Share this post with your network.
