For decades, Madagascar was on my bucket list. I had seen pictures of breathtaking mountain and forest landscapes. I was enthralled by the fact this island separated tens of millions of years ago from Africa and India and its flora and fauna evolved differently than the rest of the world. I pictured a giant Galapagos Islands but inhabited by a unique culture that was different from the rest of Africa. #travelitinerary #exploringedtravel #exploringed #madgascar #exploringmadagascar https://lnkd.in/djrDQBv

Reading about this: #Botswana - Enticing Up Market Safari Destination. Botswana is a country of seemingly endless open spaces. Though it occupies an area the size of France, the human population is only 1.6 million. This is one country where wildlife does not face stiff competition for land resources from man. As a result the animals have multiplied with a flourish. Botswana can justifiably claim to host some of the finest game sanctuaries in Africa. The worlds' largest exporter of diamonds by value, the country is not under pressure to get in more tourists. And the government has adopted a deliberate policy of keeping visitor numbers low. The hidden hand of the market has responded by adjusting the price to reflect this reality. Botswana has therefore emerged as an exclusive up market safari destination. #FrizeMedia #Travel - https://buff.ly/3JAzwBv @Charlesfrize #traveling #travelindustry #destinationmarketing #ghana #DigitalMarketingServices #wildlife #travelandtourism #ecotourism #vegetation #FrizeMediaTravel #travelblogger #travel #travelgoals #travelinspiration

Did you know that 95% of travelers only visit 5% of the planet? 🌎 At Evaneos, we truly believe that traveling off the beaten paths or off season, away from overcrowded places, is the best way to discover the world. To inspire you, here are some alternatives or similar destinations to heavily visited spots: - Looking for a white sandy beach with turquoise water? Why not exploring Albania instead of Greece? 🇬🇷 - Interested in discovering a major Asian city? Opt for South Korea over Japan. 🏙️ 🎯 Our goal is to promote destinations with low tourist density so that travelers can enjoy their stay while respecting the local wildlife and flora. Therefore, avoiding a region altogether isn't the solution to overtourism. Choosing to travel differently have a more positive impact on the destination. For instance, Tanzania is best visited in early May, just after the rainy season! #SustainableTravel #BetterTrips #ResponsibleTourism #Overtourism

Founder of WhyAfrica. Specialist in the sustainable utilisation of natural resources in Africa. Director of Endorphin Expeditions. Editor of the WhyAfrica magazine. I analyse and share information about Africa.
The Zambezi River is the fourth longest river in Africa. Its drainage basin covers 1,390,000 km2, slightly less than half of the Nile’s. The river rises in Zambia and flows through eastern Angola, along the north-eastern border of Namibia and the northern border of Botswana, then along the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe to Mozambique, where it crosses the country to empty into the Indian Ocean. The Zambezi River traverses areas where the human population is scant as in the Kavango-Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area, for example. This area protects large parts of the Caprivi Strip in Namibia, south-east Angola, south-west Zambia, the northern parts of Botswana and western Zambia. The basin also drains the Cameia National Park in Angola which covers a surface area of about 14,450km2 where the human population is relatively low. Travel planning company and tour operator Endorphin Expeditions’ Lakes, Oceans and Rivers overland expedition covers a large chunk of the Zambezi Basin. This multi-day road trip provides participants with an ideal opportunity to discover the magic of this great African river by boat, canoe and by camping on the banks of the 2,574km long river. Endorphin Expeditions is a unique tour operator that not only specialises in surreal landscapes, national parks, wildlife, and natural resources along the river, but the company also looks at environmental and social challenges on the routes they travel and focusses on the management of natural resources in the areas they visit. Travellers are encouraged to participate and ask questions during site visits and presentations by experts in national parks, wildlife areas, local community villages, mining operations, agricultural projects, and energy and infrastructure projects. The aim of these expeditions is to give group members a broad overview of what is really happening on the ground in Africa in terms of development, biodiversity conservation, environmental management, and more insight into the project sites they visit. Typical expedition members include investors, trade delegations, students, scientists, journalists, and travellers with a passion for Africa. A few companies have booked to use the opportunity as a team building exercise.
