Secretary Chidi Blyden's recent address at the #WestAfricaLogistics Conference underscored the unparalleled importance of collaboration in addressing the ever-evolving challenges that the African continent faces. After a hiatus due to COVID-19, the resurgence of this conference stands as a testament to the determination and #resilience of global #partnerships. I wholeheartedly agree with Secretary Blyden's insights on the complexities of Africa's vast #geography juxtaposed against #security threats that transcend borders. In this interconnected era, it is vital that we leverage logistics as a conduit for strengthening relationships. The focus on #synchronized operations, #interoperability, and #coordination is crucial in addressing a myriad of challenges, be it humanitarian crises, cybercriminality, or threats from extremist organizations. It's laudable how the #DepartmentofDefense and #USAfricom have persistently championed logistics programs, aiming for a robust military logistics #infrastructure not just in Africa, but globally. The inception of the Africa Logistics Forum in 2014 and the monthly engagements of the Africa Logistics Council are a testament to the commitment towards fostering knowledge sharing and operational synergy. The emphasis on annual exercises, NCO training, and engagements under the State Partnership Program further accentuate the depth of this commitment. As we navigate these times, events such as this conference offer a valuable platform to #engage, #learn, and #collaborate. Recollecting Secretary Blyden's experiences on the Africa Logistics Council in 2014 reminds us of the shared vision of a world seamlessly connected by logistics. I think that the Nordic countries is really well positioned to take the lead in AI as a tool to digitalize the industry based on great infrastucture both in fiber and 5G as well as innovative mindset and tech dna. The fact that both Ericsson and Nokia is still leaders in what they do will for sure help. And 5G will make everything safer if we make sure to look the back door...

Brussels is the home of the European Union and NATO, and I was also told it was for french fries with mayonnaise too (that’s unconfirmed) 🇪🇺 This year it played host to Arcadis’ annual pan-European Due Diligence Community workshop 👨🏻💼👩🏻💼 It is an opportunity to debate topics concerning recent successes, continuous improvement, digital and innovation, and cementing of collaboration. All the above is driven with our clients and projects in mind. There was of course time set-aside to take a break from talking all the time about that due diligence ‘yada-yada’ ✅ A subject which fascinates me, which is not an official agenda item (nor does it need to be in our case), is that of inter-team communication and understanding. I am referring to ‘cultural-competency’. It is a vital soft-skill of any consulting community which intends to work harmoniously with other nationalities across boarders. [The Italy-Africa Space Conference to Focus on Three Fundamental Pillars] The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Honorable Antonio Tajani, inaugurated the Italy-Africa Space Conference, highlighting its importance. The event, organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation ((MFA.IC)), the Italian Space Agency (ASI), and the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy, is scheduled to begin at MFA.IC’s headquarters on July 15. In addition, the conference will continue in the afternoon, on July 16, at ASI’s headquarters. The first day of the event had in attendance prominent attendees, including Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy and President of the Interministerial Committee for Space and Aerospace Research Policies (COMINT), Adolfo Urso; Minister of Culture, Gennaro Sangiuliano; Undersecretary of State to the Prime Minister’s Office, Alfredo Mantovano. Furthermore, other dignitaries include Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Technological Innovation of Congo, Delphine Edith Emmanuel Adouki; Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation of Ghana, Ophelia Mensah; Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education of Mozambique, Daniel Niagara and the Minister of Planning, Investment and Economic Development of Somalia, Mohamed Adam Moalim. The Italy-Africa Space Conference, a follow-up to the Italy-Africa Summit held in January 2024, aims to foster a spirit of collaboration by initiating bilateral and multilateral dialogues with space -faring African countries. In addition, the goal is to identify new cooperation areas within the Mattei Plan’s broader framework, in the space sector between Italy and Africa. Over the next two days, the Italy-Africa Space Conference will focus on three fundamental pillars: education and training, space applications and services for a sustainable future, and international partnerships.
