An LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) vehicle is a type of vehicle that uses liquefied natural gas as its fuel. LNG is natural gas that has been cooled to a liquid state, at about -162°C (-260°F), for ease and safety of non-pressurized storage or transport. Key features of LNG vehicles include: 1. Fuel Storage: LNG is stored in insulated tanks to keep it in its liquid state. The insulation is necessary to maintain the low temperature required for LNG. 2. Fuel System: The vehicle has a fuel system designed to handle LNG, including components to convert the liquid gas back into a gaseous state before it is used in the engine. 3. Engine Types: LNG vehicles can be powered by internal combustion engines similar to those that run on gasoline or diesel, or by specially designed natural gas engines. 4. Applications: LNG vehicles are commonly used for heavy-duty applications such as trucks, buses, and maritime vessels. They are particularly valued for their longer range compared to compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles and for their lower emissions compared to diesel. 5. Environmental Benefits: LNG is considered a cleaner fuel alternative, producing fewer emissions of sulfur, particulates, and nitrogen oxides compared to diesel and gasoline. LNG vehicles are part of a broader effort to use alternative fuels to reduce dependence on petroleum and to lower the environmental impact of transportation. #lngfuel

Please take note of the following items during the project selection stage: - Engine type - Main Engine Load profile for anticipated trade - Electrical load chart (How you plan to use the 4-stroke sets) - Primary source of fuel gas for your customers (LNG or BOG extraction) - Availability of space for emission abatement solutions, in case it is not already installed on your engines you plan to retrofit later. 🚢 ⚠️ LNG tankers to blame for 82% of shipping’s methane emissions in 2021 the report indicated that a staggering 98% of methane emissions in 2021 originated from low-pressure engines, known for their higher methane slip compared to high-pressure alternatives. Within this category, low-pressure, dual-fuel, four-stroke (LPDF 4-stroke) engines claimed the majority (86%) of emissions. Few insights on LNG shipping (2023) - Total LNG tanker fleet consisted of 772 vessels. 576 of these have membrane containment system. -Average spot charter rate for a 160,000 m3 TFDE carrier stood at $97,100 / day compared to an average of $131,500 / day in 2022 - 41 vessels were delivered in 2023 compared with 35 vessels in 2022 - New orders reached a total of 66 units compared with 178 new orders in 2022 - At the end of 2023, the Order book consisted of 341 units. This represents 51% of existing fleet capacity -89 new ships are expected to be delivered in CY 24 As the energy landscape continues to evolve, it's clear that LNG will play a significant role in the transition to a lower-carbon future. #LNGshipping #energytransition
