The latest session of the Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC 82) starts on Monday 30th September. It will discuss a range of matters, including proposed mid-term measures for the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from ships, and is also investigating the establishment of two new Emission Control Areas (ECAs): the Canadian Arctic Waters and Norwegian Sea. ExxonMobil looks forward to hearing the MEPC’s decisions and how they will shape future vessel operations. We support the International Maritime Organization's ambition to reduce total annual GHG emissions and reach net-zero GHG emissions from international shipping by or around 2050. We are working to help our customers determine their best route toward meeting the IMO’s GHG emission-reduction goals. #ExxonMobil #Marine
