THE CALLING There is no denying that every job is tough. Each one comes with it's own special set of problems. But there are some jobs that people in general don't see as jobs per say but as a calling. The nurses who work round the clock, dispensing meds, taking blood, changing sheets, cleaning butts. The educator who stays back to coach the laggards, give up their vacation days to plan programs for the kids, collect trinkets & cheap perfume every teacher's day & be on standby to listen to parent's complaints. The soldier who is ever ready to defend the country, work weekends, turn up in a crisis, give up his seat on a bus, bleed and die when called upon. When I was a recruiter, it was a job. I had bills to pay & mouths to feed. Well, I thought it was a job but often I realized that the public thought of recruiting as a calling. Apparently, people thought I was walking down the street one day, a bright light came down from the heavens, trumpets blaring & angels singing. And the deepest booming voice declare, "Henceforth from today, you will be a recruiter" And my life onwards was to bow down and serve every person seeking for a job. Try this simple exercise, recall the last job you got and the recruiter who was part of that whole process. Remember his or her name, or do you remember them simply as "The Recruiter"? So I want to take this opportunity to wish all recruiters out there a very HAPPY RECRUITER'S DAY! PS. It isn't really today, I made it up. As previously announced, we were looking forward to bringing you a wide ranging 2hr discussion with 8 medical and health practitioners from Australia and the U.K. on why they were censored, and how to fight medical censorship on a psychological front.
