While everyone is still scrambling to figure out how to respond to the deprecation of 3P cookies, ad blockers actually help us to see the light. As with "Thd Sandbox", Ad Blockers eliminate your ability to see users coming to your site if you're on 3P tech. Based on my experience with privacy advertising, nearly 70% of all marketers and publishers still use GA in a 3rd Party configuration. How to adjust to the modern era of advertising in a few steps: 1. Move all of your CDP and Analytics Suites to 1P. This means your analytics need to be hosted on your site domain. Simple example: analytics.branddomain.com to ensure you will clear privacy browsers and ad blockers 2. Develop a strategy to combat lost revenue due to ad blocking. The most comprehensive solution on the market today is Ad-Shield.io as they solve for all ad blockers and privacy browsers that block ads. 3. Utilize your 1P CDP to develop and expose user segments based on your history with the user. This will become increasingly valuable over time. First for internal offers or promotion, and second for direct or open market PMP's / PG's There is a lot a publisher and or an advertiser can do now to shore up their looming losses. AdBlocking is on the rise, and as stated by Dustin Cha from Ad-Shield.io, publishers tend to be unaware of the full loss impact. The Trade Desk shuts advertisers’ access to Yahoo’s video content. The Trade Desk disabled access to Yahoo’s video inventory across the open market on June 17 in a dispute over how the latter labels its media inventory, and while negotiations are ongoing, further repercussions are in prospect.
