Eye-Net Mobile Completes UTAC Technology Qualification in France 🚦 We sat down with Dror Elbaz CEO of Eye-Net Mobile, to discuss the significance of the recent UTAC technology qualification and how they advance the company’s vision for the future of #V2X technology. Read the interview here: https://lnkd.in/gCjFWSqh Key Takeaways: 👉 Why is this important? UTAC, a world leader in vehicle testing, validated Eye-Net’s real-time collision avoidance system under demanding conditions. 🎯 Strategic Goal: These qualifications strengthen our visibility in the road safety industry, showcasing our ability to perform under real-world conditions. It also reinforces our standing in the #ADAS market. ❓ What was tested? UTAC focused on key performance metrics, including latency management, and tested our system’s accuracy and consistency in challenging environments. These trials validated Eye-Net’s capability to address -Non-Line-of-Sight hazards- for enhanced cyclists, vehicle and pedestrian #safety. Our partnership with Software République played an important role, ensuring that Eye-Net’s technology integrates smoothly into broader mobility ecosystems. This milestone brings us one step closer to our goal of revolutionizing road safety and advancing ADAS technology on a global scale 🌍 🥂 Dimitri Coeuret #EyeNetMobile #RoadSafety #V2X #ADAS #AutomotiveInnovation #CollisionAvoidance #MobilityTech #UTAC #SoftwareRepublique #VehicleSafety

Spent a few hours today listening to the first meeting of Secretary Buttigieg's TTAC. The participant's perspectives were heavily focused on addressing the potential impact of Automated Vehicles (AV) and (AI). The perspectives are similar to those I heard in Europe (EUCAD), Japan (SIP-adus), U.S. TRB ARTS and at nearly every ITS World Congress meeting this last decade. Secretary Buttigieg's remarks may have been the most relevant, in relating that the most impactful technology on transportation today was unintended with the development of smartphones. It is strange to listen to a conversation on how to regulate a technology that many, many participants doubt will be transformative for another 30-years. Laura Chace, ITS America, nailed it when she said that the TTAC did not have the technical expertise to address the proposed topics, especially as it relates to precursor technologies. Bryan Reimer and Kelly Funkhouser argued effectively that the TTAC should focus on leveraging current technologies to improve road safety. Kelly Funkhouser's suggestion of dividing the discussion into two tracks: Consumer focused-vehicles (SAE Level 2) and AVs (SAE Level 3-4) makes sense. AVs are at least a 2030's technology, ADAS is today! There was not a single representative from the telecommunications industry. There was not a single representative from AASHTO, other than Secretary Vélez-Vega, Puerto Rico Department of Public Works. Puerto Rico is intriguing in that it would make for an interesting deployment test deck, but where was AASHTO as a major policymaker. There was very little discussion of infrastructure while so many of the modern driver assistance and automating technologies need well-maintained infrastructure to support lane localization. NHTSA was mentioned, but not represented. FHWA was not mentioned, and they manage and update the only national U.S. infrastructure standard (MUTCD). A document updated and released December 19th and effective on January 18th (11th Edition MUTCD). The 11th Edition contains several new and potentially valuable contributions relative to supporting the full spectrum of driving automation system technologies. The new Part 5 is entirely dedicated to preparing roadways for the full spectrum of automated vehicle technologies and received zero mentions during this TTAC meeting. Zero. Gaps. Yep. TTAC has some gaps.
