Chronic inflammation: Infections like Mpox can cause chronic inflammation, disrupting iron balance and RBC production. This may lead to anemia, especially in those with weakened immune systems. Direct viral effects: The monkeypox virus may directly affect bone marrow function. This can reduce erythropoiesis, leading to lower RBC production and potentially causing anemia. Nutritional deficiencies: Severe infections often cause changes in appetite and how the body absorbs nutrients, leading to iron deficiency. This can make anemia worse. Increased morbidity: Anemia can make infections more likely and hinder recovery from diseases like Mpox #EzeRx #EzeCheck #Mpox #emergency
