Another gem from my group 💎 With great pleasure, I would like the share our latest work, out today in Science Magazine Advances 🚀 This work is also featured on the cover of the journal with a masterpiece of art as shown in the picture. (Link to the article is below). After conceiving this idea nearly 7 years ago and continuously working on it with many students and co-workers, only now it has come to a point that is worth sharing with everyone. In this study, we developed a technology called TETRIS which is a modular sensing platform for measuring the chemical environment around the roots of a whole plant in real-time primarily aimed toward phenotyping and accelerating the development of more robust plant varieties to improve agriculture. For this extraordinary work, I would like thank, first and foremost, by former PhD student Dr Phil Coatsworth and my amazing collaborators Professors Tolga Osman Bozkurt and Dai-Yin Chao. I would also like to thank my former PhD student Yasin Cotur, PhD, current PhD students Selin Olenik and Alex Collins, my colleagues Tarek Asfour, Dr Laura Gonzalez-Macia, PhD and the most junior members of my team Atharv Naik and ZIHAO ZHOU. The artwork was created by Phil and Zihao which is a cyanotype print showing a plant with sensors. I'm so excited. It's like the first step of a great revolution. Congratulations👏
Great work and congratulations 🎊 to Firat and group
I literally love the TETRIS acronym! Congrats Fırat and team!
This looks really exciting work Firat and your Team. It would be evolutionary or even revolutionary if this were to roll out into agriculture and help growers keep pace with environmental change.
Big minds, big ideas, impactful solutions. Congrats Firat and co. ;-)
Hi Firat, fascinating journey! The modular sensing platform for real-time root environment analysis is a breakthrough. Kudos to your collaborative team for advancing agriculture with innovation.
Very Interesting article
Excellent article... Many many 🎉 🎉 Prof. Fırat Güder
Art director @ Ella Maru Studio Inc. | We create figures, cover images and animation for scientists!
9moCongrats, Fırat Güder! If TETRIS can differentiate between nutrient and heavy metal uptake, could it pave the way for "smart crops" that self-regulate their nutrient absorption?
