I’m not always as diplomatic as I should be. Recently, I was asked by another advisor how much “business you’ve closed recently.” I hate that phrasing and I let him know it… We don’t “close business”, we serve families. It stems from the pervasive sales culture in our industry. Sales in financial services means finding a customer for your product. We don’t do sales. We build relationships and impact families by aligning their finances with what they value so they can get the most out of life with the resources they’ve built. No commissions, no kickbacks, no product sales.

Inside of every organization, there's some dynamic duos. For me, it's me and Alberto Possagno Or my 'technical other half', as I call him 😀 Despite both doing the same role, we are often on customer calls together and it works just great 🔥 Alberto is obviously taller, slightly younger and more technical than me, plus he has more Dreamdata experience too. His persona is also different but complimentary, so we can adjust to the different styles of our prospects on calls really well. Obviously, my advantages, other than being much more handsome and charming, are that I have many more years of sales experience. Most people see working in #sales as a bit of a solo game, but without Alberto, I would not close many deals. Aside from being on calls together, we also sit together and keep each other motivated on a daily basis. We prep for meetings together every day, share challenges and brainstorm solutions. And even though he mocks me daily for being such a Boomer, he's a genuine great guy and I know he loves my Dad jokes more than he lets on. So, Alberto and me are for sure my dynamic duo.
