June was a thrilling month for FACTUALITY. I had the honor of bringing my newest immersive program, Factuality Pride, to FOX Ad Solutions, Google, and Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Society (VECCS). I brought my signature simulation, Factuality the Board Game, back to Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP's Summer Associates, and to the Maryland Public Service Scholars Programs. Lastly, I’m proud to share that I graduated from SAGE Advice, a dynamic partnership between WBEC Greater DMV and Capital One, designed to advance the growth of certified women owned businesses. Facilitated by esteemed women entrepreneurs and Capital One leaders, this six month intensive cohort profoundly elevated my understanding of strategic business development and positioned me for sustained success in any climate. If you’re interested in bringing the Factuality experience to your organization, schedule a demo here: https://lnkd.in/ePtBhunX

The Denver Deep Dive was started because we learned that alumni weren’t aware of or had access to the systems that help run our city. For nine months, we engaged with the community and learned how Denver’s systems are interconnected. As we finished the first cohort, members of the Deep Dive created capstone projects to share how they changed and what they learned from these nine months. This is a poem from Vallerie Bustamante, she paints a picture to what the future of homegrown talent might look like. Please give it a full read and let us know what you think in the comments! #EdniumAlumni #EducationLeadership #HomegrownTalent #HomegrownAwards

Missed our SXSW Fireside chat? No worries, check out the audio today! Who helped you get to where you are today? Was it a teacher, friend, community member, or mentor? The truth is we’ve all benefited from social capital in some form or fashion. We can’t expect students to unlock their potential by themselves. By combining insights from research and practice, this conversation will define and dissect this concept of “social capital”–what it means, who has it, how to measure it, and why programs putting it at the center of their work are successfully unleashing the next generation of future leaders and changemakers. https://lnkd.in/ewDRsw-p

As I re-read Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archives series in preparation for the release of book 5, Wind and Truth, I cannot help but notice the deeply rooted DEI themes present throughout the series. This quote is just one example of how Sanderson uses popular media to call attention to DEI tenants and reinforce that they are universal rights and truths, not a new movement or fad. This quote and the series, in general, challenge the status quo and question ingrained practices and beliefs, even those deeply rooted in tradition, culture, or religion. Change is always difficult, and one of the reasons why a growth mindset is essential in DEI. It embraces the idea that we can all evolve, learn, and unlearn. It recognizes that biases and prejudices, often deeply ingrained in systemic structures, can be challenged and dismantled. It fosters a culture of continuous learning and improvement, where we actively seek to understand and address inequities. Conversely, a fixed mindset clings to the past, resisting change and perpetuating systemic biases. It views individuals and groups through a narrow lens, limiting potential and reinforcing stereotypes. It's a mindset that hinders progress and maintains the status quo of inequality. As a DEI leader, I've witnessed the transformative power of a growth mindset. It enables us to question traditions, challenge biases, and create a more inclusive and equitable world. So, let us remember to always think critically about the "why" behind the "things we have always done" and examine the narrative and intent behind tradition, beliefs, laws, and structures. We need to continually ask ourselves, "How has our world changed?" and does the "old way" of doing things serve the purpose it once did? After all, it's not about erasing the past but learning from it and building a better future for all. #DEI #growthmindset #leadership #equity #inclusion #change #fiction #stormlightarchieves #brandonsanderson #greatbooks #deifiction #oathbringer

Ten years ago, we embarked on a mission to connect like-minded people with aspirations, to create a platform where ideas could be shared freely, and to reinvent the way businesses reach their audiences. Many people became part of the journey, played their part, and wrote a chapter or two in the annals of our legacy... Today, we take this day to remember their contributions in building who we are today, as our clients, teammates, advisors, mentors, believers, friends, philosophers, and guides throughout. People keep asking us about the origin story of our name, why it resonates with something that's colloquially an object of high maintenance, or simply what we do or stand for, and how exactly we managed to be where we are today, starting from absolute scratch. Today as well, we do not have all the answers that we sought out for, and we still count on the hands that reach out to us, either to help us or to bless us. Over the course of a decade, we have managed to learn, unlearn, relearn, and rise above where we came from, while staying true to our roots. We aren't preachers, and we still do not have this journey figured out. We have been perennial learners, and our stronghold in the industry today is shaped by the patronage, handholding, criticisms that we received on the way, and we celebrate the spirit of White Elephant Tech that managed to sustain for a decade today, with a promise to be just as unwavering in the decades to come. #WhiteElephantLegacy #ElephantineDecade #LegacyBuilders #RootsAndRise #TenYearsStrong #ElevateAndEvolve #PerennialLearning #SustainingSpirit #UnwaveringPromise #CommunityBuilders #ResilientJourney #DecadeOfElephants
